I agree Lindsey .. I work for a medium sized not for profit org that has a huge impact on the state of Utah . We are very focused on communicating our outcomes and impact with large social media presence as well as on going TV presence. However , it does feel like we are only 20th Century in out use of technology . It is a barrier I believe due to operational size and attempt to keep operational costs to a minimum . However i do think modernity is on the cusp as we have tripled our operations ( brick n mortar buildings along with SG&A ) .

Yep this mirrors what I've seen out there in the nfp world. The adoption of technology seems to be a big barrier for small to medium nfps, understandably they are time and resource poor and aren't technically minded. A large part of the work I do is helping nfps understand how technology can enable them to be more data-driven, the actual technology setup and deployment is the relative "easy bit"
