Whether you're running your own business, juggling multiple roles, or navigating the everyday stresses of work-life balance, mental health plays a huge role in how we show up for ourselves and each other. Let’s get real for a second. We all have tough days. There are times when the pressure feels overwhelming, deadlines pile up, and we feel like we’re just trying to keep our heads above water. It’s okay to feel this way, and it’s even more okay to ask for help. In this community, we're here to remind you—you don’t have to do it all alone. If you’re feeling burnt out, anxious, or simply need a break, reach out. We’ve all been there, and no one should suffer in silence. At DZ Connect Business Women and DZ Events Boston, we support each other through the highs and the lows. We believe in creating a space where mental health is as important as any other aspect of life. You matter. Your well-being matters. If you or someone you know is struggling, don’t hesitate to talk to a friend, a loved one, or a professional. You’re not alone, and we’re here for you. ✨ Mental Health in the Workplace (and why it is important) ✨ Mental Health conversations have become more open over the years, but we can still find some misconceptions, stigmas and lack of awareness around this topic. Taking care of our mental well-being, is also about asking for help and having tools at hand when needed. For some people this means therapy, meditation, practicing a sport or hobby, and for some others it can be having a "mental health day" away from the office, or medication. And, in each journey, it is key to find safe places where you can be vulnerable and normalize these conversations. When I decided to join as a Co- Chair for STEMCELL’s Mental Health Employee Resources Group (ERG), I did it because I believe in advocating for safe environments to bring these conversations up. My own Mental Health journey keeps me open and interested in finding new and better ways to practice self- compassion (easier said than done!) but I have grown by learning from other people’s journeys too. It could feel odd, scary, or uncomfortable to start some of these conversations at work, but a couple of weeks ago, in support of May as the Mental Health Awareness month, the Mental Health ERG brought a panel of STEMCELL employees at different levels in the organization, to talk openly about their own journeys and, this way, help to start normalizing these conversations in the workplace. I was honored I had the chance to help moderate this conversation that had over 135 employees joining virtually for the event. And I was also touched by the vulnerability of our panelists, and by the feedback we got from the audience. It’s impressive to see how powerful stories can be when they are told in safe places, and I was grateful STEMCELL is intentionally creating these spaces too. Let's encourage open conversations about Mental Health challenges, seek support, and prioritize our well-being. By fighting stigma, raising awareness, and sharing our journeys in safe spaces, we empower others in ways we may not realize. Embracing vulnerability is a strength that can inspire and support others profoundly. #MentalHealthAwarenessMonth #MentalHealthERG

🌿Today is World Mental Health Day! 🌿 The theme set by the World Health Organisation this year is ✨Mental Health at Work✨ This is a tricky one for women in business, as we often work from home, or struggle with setting and maintaining boundaries between work and home. But when the boundaries blur, our mental health can suffer. Maybe not straight away, but over time, those blurred lines and no time to switch our brain off from work and enjoy life start to have a real impact on how we feel about everything, including ourselves, our relationships and our business. It’s something I’ve struggled with - it’s been a long winter of sickness, and I’ve had to juggle sick kids at home, and then work in the evening, and only consistently get 4-6 hours sleep a night, if lucky. It felt like a hamster wheel, and it was difficult to stick to clear boundaries between home and work. I feel like we’re finally starting to come out the other side, but it’s been a long road. Things I’ve focused on to support my mental health: ✨Making home improvements - feeling better about the space I exist in for home and work ✨Bringing on more team support into my business - I don’t have to do it all alone ✨Eating healthy - as much as the chocolate calls to me, I feel better when I try and eat more protein ✨Trying to move more - I have no idea how to fit structured exercise into this chaotic life, but we’re working on a lot of dance parties with the kids, occasional walks, and a bit of gardening ✨Making plans for kid-free time with my partner and friends - taking time out away from my kids makes me a better parent when I’m with my kids ✨Making plans for our family, like a kiddy birthday party and holidays ✨I started reading a fiction book for fun - I admit, I haven’t finished it, but it’s something I plan on working on Remember: ✨It’s okay to pause ✨It’s okay to ask for help ✨And it’s more than okay to take time for yourself I’d love to hear how you support your own mental health when balancing work and life? Today 10th October as we join the rest of the world in commemorating World Mental Health Day. This year's theme is "Mental Health at Work." With a lot of young people trying to make their marks in different industries and spheres. There's a lot of pressure to want to make it. And sometimes there's a thin line between the pressures of the hustle and having a severe mental breakdown. Sometimes people tend to overlook mental breakdowns in the work place and this has caused a lot of employees to lose their zeal and motivation for work even their sanity. In my few years of harnessing my skills and trying to find my feet in the industry, I have learnt and I'm still learning how to nurture mindfulness. In a world where everyone is going through something being mindful of what others might be going through is very important. Especially in work spaces where we all meet with our different skills, backgrounds, culture and values. How we relate with each other and understand that in as much as we meet together in the workplace to fulfill objectives and goals that move the organization forward. We still bring our personalities to the workplace and being mindful of each other does improve mental wellbeing of employees and employers. #mentalhealthawareness #MentalHealthAtWork

This #WorldMentalHealthDay, it's time to talk about Mental Health at Work—a place where we often spend a large portion of our lives. For full-time workers, up to 30% of time is spent at work, often this is more than we typically spend in waking hours at home with family and friends. This highlights the vital connection between mental health and work. Safe, healthy, inclusive and supportive workplaces can promote and protect our mental health. Conversely, unhealthy workplaces with poor working conditions, discrimination and stigma can significantly negatively impact our mental health and quality of life. Here are some key tips from the World Health Organization (WHO) to help you maintain mental well-being at work: 💗Join groups for connection, sharing of hobbies and interests, and general encouragement. 💗Share your feelings with someone you trust. 💗Stay physically active—it’s great for both body and mind. 💗Take breaks to refresh and reset. 💗Reach out to professionals when you need extra support. 💗Eat healthy to keep your energy up and mind sharp. 💗Practice breathing or mindfulness to manage stress when it arises. And most importantly, stay connected with yourselves, loved ones and colleagues. Let’s all take steps to ensure that mental health is part of our everyday conversation—at work and beyond. #MentalHealthMatters #WorkWellbeing #WorldMentalHealthDay2024

As Mental Health Awareness Month is upon us, I feel compelled to share a deeply personal journey—a journey of resilience, hope, and self-discovery. As well as a call to action for prioritizing mental health in the workplace. For years, I battled silently with the shadows of depression and eating disorders. Each day felt like a relentless struggle, overshadowed by a cloud of despair. But through the darkness, I found a glimmer of light—the courage to seek help and the strength to embark on a journey towards healing. It wasn't easy. There were setbacks, moments of doubt, and days when the weight of the world felt unbearable. But with each step forward, I discovered the power of self-love, compassion, and resilience. We must recognize the vital role that workplaces play in supporting employee well-being. For too long, mental health has been stigmatized and overlooked in professional settings, the time for change is now. Today, as I reflect on my journey, I am filled with gratitude for the support of loved ones, the guidance of those who have been where I was, and the resilience within myself. I stand here not as a victim, but as a survivor—a testament to the fact that healing is possible and that no one is ever truly alone in their struggles. By normalizing conversations about mental health and creating safe spaces for us to speak our truth, we can empower individuals around us in the workplace to seek the support they need without the fear of judgment or repercussion. This Mental Health Awareness Month, let us break the stigma, amplify our voices, and extend a hand of empathy to those who may be battling in silence. Together, let’s create workplaces that not only drive productivity and innovation but also prioritize the holistic health and happiness of every individual. United, we can create a world where mental health is valued, understood, and prioritized. #MentalHealthAwarenessMonth #BreakTheStigma #YouAreNotAlone #BetterToday #WorkplaceWellness

Hey LinkedIn fam! It's been a while since I've posted but I'm fired up to dive into a crucial topic this Mental Health Awareness Month. In this video, I'm getting real about why it's essential for our team to prioritize our own emotional process work. Here's the deal: We're in the business of helping families navigate through some of life's toughest challenges. But here's the kicker— if we're not taking care of our own emotional well-being, how can we expect to show up fully for those who rely on us? I break it down in this video, sharing why neglecting our own stress and emotions doesn't just affect us—it impacts our ability to support others effectively. Trust me, I've been there. When we're carrying around unresolved stress, it's like carrying a backpack full of rocks. And guess what? Those rocks don't just weigh us down—they spill over into our interactions with the families we serve. So this Mental Health Awareness Month, let's make a commitment—to ourselves and to each other. Let's prioritize our own emotional wellness, not just for our sake, but for the sake of those who count on us every day. Answer this question: What are some things you do to manage your own stress? All month, members of my team at The Leaf Company will be sharing the different ways they manage their stress and I invite you to join us. Let's keep the dialogue going. Together, we can create a workplace culture that values and supports the emotional well-being of every team member. Because when we take care of ourselves, we're better equipped to take care of others. 💪 #MentalHealthAwarenessMonth #EmotionalWellness #TeamWellness #SelfCare #SupportEachOther

🌟 🌟 🌟 MENTAL HEALTH DAY 2024! 🌟 MENTAL HEALTH IS HEALTH TOO! We need to prioritize our health at all times and that includes our Mental Health. My uncle who passed just last week told me once, “Make up your mind, not your face” Often, we are stressed by one thing or another and sometimes all we need to do is to make that tough decision; quitting a stressful job, changing your location or lifestyle, or simply reducing our workload. Making that decision will make a big difference toward promoting positive mental health and improve your life. 🌟 Once a year we focus on employee mental health, and this year that day is October 10, 2024. I applaud companies that support their employee’s mental health throughout the year. Whether it’s with access to psychological assistance, providing the opportunity for paid mental health time-off or other programs. It is commendable, and with these kinds of employee focus programs you will attract and retain top talent. Also, hats-off to leaders who are sensitive to the well-being of their staff. For 2024 and beyond, it is time to prioritize mental health in the workplace. ✨Visit my website SLCstudio.ca and follow me for more content.✨ #MentalHealthDay2024 #MentalHealth #selfcare #
