The kings and queens of ancient Egypt left legacies that spanned millennia, making it one of the most fascinating civilizations in human history. Among the most symbolic legacies, the funerary masks stand out, telling moving stories about the lives and deeds of the rulers of this great civilization. These masks were more than simple adornments; they had a deep spiritual meaning, representing the transformation of the body and the ruler's journey to the afterlife. Each mask reflects the wealth, art and religiosity of Ancient Egypt, combining artisanal skill with a unique aesthetic that continues to fascinate the world. The most famous mask, that of Tutankhamun, for example, is a testament to the luxury and skill of Egyptian artisans. With its meticulous details, it is a window into the story of a young pharaoh who ruled for a short time but left an everlasting mark. These works of art, full of symbolism, allow us to travel back in time, offering a glimpse into the greatness and creativity of a civilization that influenced not only its contemporaries, but also future generations. There is no other civilization that contributed as much to science, art, architecture and religion as Ancient Egypt. I highly recommend everyone to remember this when climate activists paint some wall or some painting coverage somewhere. Climate change is destroying more art, lives, species and buildings than the activists trying to make YOU take action on it. And by you, I mean all organizations - public or private - the ones most responsible for the impacts. Are you going to keep complaining about the activists' not being perfect, or are you going to be part of the change for the better? Think about it, twice, please. I do not endorse vandalism whatsoever, but we need to rethink what we really want to value the most - life! Happy 2025, or whatever Earth-Sun-Moon-based time-measuring system you follow.
