As we conlcude another season, we take a moment to reflect on the transformative journey our participants have undertaken. Each narrative illustrates that change is not merely a destination, but a profound evolution rooted in self discovery and hope. Just as climbing the mountain offers new perspectives, so does the journey into one’s self. With the closing of the 2024 season, we complete a decade of service. Each year holding its own challenges and victories, all leading to where we are today. Thank you to the men who made the choice to change, and thank you to the staff who works tirelessly to help facilitate that change. Lastly thank you to everyone who has supported us and been there through this journey. As we turn the page to the future, we are filled with hope and excitement for the possibilities ahead. We are just getting started! #veteranshelpingveterans #dohardthings #gratitude

Let’s get one thing clear. We don’t invest for the money….. We invest for the options. The option to work less. To make a difference, to give back. To spend more time with the family. To travel and go on adventures more. We invest for the option to live a better life… And to create a brighter future for our kids. And their kids, and their kids after them! Because no one wakes up and thinks I just want to work all my life. Last quarter we bought a 48 unit apartment complex. This quarter we’re investing in more than 50 air bnbs. In emerging vacation rental markets across the U.S. Why? For passive income, to beat the stock market, to be diversified, to reduce our taxable income… And to have more options. Happy National Financial Literacy Month! Did you know that veterans often face unique financial challenges upon returning to civilian life? Including getting connected to benefits, navigating the housing market with limited rental histories, and especially for those dealing with injuries, difficulties finding suitable jobs. This is why financial education is a key component of our programs, which empowers veterans to effectively budget, save, invest, and achieve responsible homeownership. Understanding how to navigate these are vital in ensuring financial stability and well-being. #financialliteracy #veteran #veteranenrichedneighborhood #veterans #education

Recently, I read From Strength to Strength by Arthur Brooks, and it hit home. It was recommended to me by a friend who retired from the Marine Corps earlier this year and knew about my upcoming retirement. The book explores how we can find purpose and meaning as we age, particularly when noticing that certain abilities, like fluid intelligence, begin to decline. One of Brooks' powerful insights is that clinging to our past successes can actually hinder our growth. Instead, we should embrace this transition by shifting our focus to crystallized intelligence, which he considers as the wisdom and experience we've gained over time. For anyone navigating a major life shift—whether leaving the military or approaching a new phase—Brooks provides practical advice: 🧠 Let go of success addictions 🤝 Invest in relationships 🌱 Seek deeper wisdom. It’s a roadmap to find lasting fulfillment by adjusting our expectations and prioritizing what really matters. This book came highly recommended for my transition, and I can see why. I encourage others, especially veterans, to give it a read. #VeteranTransition #PurposeAndMeaning #FromStrengthToStrength #PersonalGrowth

There’s no denying the invaluable contributions of our Special Forces families to the nation. The sacrifices they have made, the discipline they embody, and the challenges they have overcome are nothing short of heroic. As children of these brave men and women, Special Forces brats are raised in an environment of honor, resilience, and unparalleled patriotism. For this, they deserve our deepest respect. However, as with any community, it’s important to recognize that experiences shape perspectives, but no single viewpoint encompasses the entirety of truth. While the experiences of Special Forces families are unique and deserving of admiration, the world is complex, and everyone contributes to society in their own way, often in ways unseen or unappreciated by those outside their sphere. We, too, are doing our part. Whether in civilian roles, entrepreneurial endeavors, social services, or other fields, many of us strive to contribute to the nation's progress and well-being in ways that may not seem as obvious or valorized. Yet, these efforts are equally essential. The economy is driven by innovators, educators shape future generations, and health professionals save lives daily. These roles, though different, are as critical to the nation's stability and growth as the role of a soldier on the front line. There’s a tendency, among some in the Special Forces community, to look down upon those outside of military service with a sense of superiority, believing that the civilian population is oblivious to sacrifice or discipline. This, while understandable given the environment they’ve grown up in, overlooks the broader reality that heroism and contribution take many forms. No one path is the singular truth; no one role is more valid than another. We all play different parts, but we are all working toward a shared goal, a better, safer, more prosperous nation. It’s important to remember that humility is a strength, not a weakness. The ability to respect others’ experiences and contributions, even when they don’t mirror our own, reflects true wisdom. We must be willing to acknowledge that while Special Forces families have an undeniable depth of experience, others have equally important perspectives shaped by different, yet valuable, challenges. In essence, a nation's progress relies on the collective efforts of its people. Military families safeguard our borders and freedoms, but it's the combined efforts of all military and civilian alike, that allow a country to thrive. Let us honor the sacrifices made by our military families, but let us also recognize the sacrifices made in classrooms, hospitals, businesses, and homes. We may walk different paths, but we all share a commitment to the greater good. Respect is a two-way street. It’s time we walk it together.

Here is a simple 30 second #Protip for my #TransitioningVeterans this Monday! With so many messages coming in, it can be easy to lose track of important texts, especially those related to your VA notifications 😩. To make sure you never miss an important reminder, try ✨ saving your VA notifications texts as a contact with a name that you can easily search for later✨. This simple hack has made it so much easier to quickly find my upcoming VA stuff. Too easy. ⬇️If this helped you, spread the word 🗣️ by liking and sharing my post and leaving me a 30 second hack in the comments 🙏 ⬇️ AllegiantVets American Corporate Partners (ACP) Skillbridge Network: The Military Transition Hub Marcus Haney Thomas McKenzie TYNISSHA N. Every Blip on the Radar Matters..... Today is Giving Tuesday, and I want to share why I work with Avalon Action Alliance and why this mission matters so deeply to me. I’m not here to turn fellow veterans into victims or feed/target the "veteran industry", I’m here for impact. To drive meaningful change, coordinate efforts…. and above all help the team get veterans and first responders, that are in need, back in the fight—living with strength, purpose, and the ability to bounce back. Every dollar donated, even just one, is a blip on the radar—a powerful message that you believe in what we’re doing. That you stand with us in saying that me and my fellow veterans deserve more than a system that commodifies our challenges. Our community needs real care, real opportunities, and a real path to thriving. We’re not about numbers; we’re about lives. About creating lasting, tangible impact for those who have sacrificed so much. Every donation, every share, every voice proves that we’re on the right path. So today, I’m asking you: Stand with us. With every veteran and first responder who needs to know their service and sacrifices were not in vain and they are welcomed back into the communities they fought for. Join me in making today a #DayOfImpact. Together, we can heal, rebuild, and empower. https://lnkd.in/e8CaXUds #ThankYou #Grateful #GivingTuesday #WeCantDoThisWithoutYou #StandWithVeterans#AvalonActionAlliance #veterans, #SOF #GreenBeret #community #army #navy #spaceforce #airforce #marines #firefighters #police #firstresponders #coastguard #TBI # PTS #PTSD #SOBERLIVING #thrive #leadership #pmp #projectmanagement #mentalhealth #TransformLives
