In a recent study published in @The Lancet, nearly 1000 children with torus fractures were randomly assigned to receive either a bandage or splint treatment. The provision of a bandage demonstrated equivalence to splint treatment. For comprehensive resources tailored to Emergency Departments and Orthopaedic Departments, including pathways, patient information videos, and leaflets, visit www.FORCEstudy.org. Honored for being given the opportunity to be part of the recently published AO Spine and Praxis Spinal Cord Institute clinical practice guidelines on the prevention, diagnosis and management of intraoperative spinal cord injury (iSCI) - a feared complication of spinal surgery. Unfortunately, only little can be done to conquer postoperative neurologic sequelae. Therefore, multidisciplinary efforts have to center around identification of patients at high risk for sustaining an iSCI, preventative measures in order to reduce the risk of its occurence, timely detection intraoperatively along with swift implementation of appropriate management strategies. https://lnkd.in/etY3Fg8P #SpinalCordInjury #SCI #SpineSurgery #Spine #Guidelines
