https://lnkd.in/eTrUEhgn Coach Spoelstra is the best coach in the NBA. These lessons about practice habits matter in business too. Are we practicing our presentations as much as we should? Do we take every "rep" seriously? Sports lessons translate very well into the business world. #practicematters #littlethingsturnintobigthings #heatculture

It’s not the time we have; it’s what we do in that time that matters! 🕰️ Many years ago, I was a swimmer, and before every big competition, I would watch movies to get psyched up. One of those movies was the 80s classic Vision Quest, starring Matthew Modine and Linda Fiorentino. Not because of the solo performance by Madonna or the amazing warm-up montage featuring the song “Lunatic Fringe,” but because of how it illustrated what is required to accomplish a goal, including rubberized running suits to help you make wrestling weight (hitting 168 pounds to wrestle Shute). All that aside, I wanted to share one of the best scenes from the movie that had me thinking over the weekend. The scene takes place in his colleague’s room, discussing the impact of watching Pelé score an amazing shot in soccer. The main point of the scene was his comments about the movie’s climax—the key 6-minute wrestling match: “It’s not about the 6 minutes; it’s about what happens in that 6 minutes.” Your life has the same rule, “it’s not about how much time you have; it’s about what happens in that time.” I hear people talk about a job, a relationship, or a friendship ending because of circumstances beyond their control, but in reality, you should be grateful you had the opportunity, and it is our responsibility to always make the most of every second. Nothing in life comes with a guarantee, and yet we are always so shocked when things end. Imagine starting today as if this is the last day of every meaningful relationship in your life—I can guarantee you would not waste one minute. Live today like there is no tomorrow, because when tomorrow arrives, you will not be who you were yesterday. It’s not these 24 hours; it’s what you do with them. ;-) P.S. ♻️ Repost this so we can all grow faster – together. I have been working on my story telling abilities and have been using Pip Decks to accelerate my skills. https://lnkd.in/gENKSbPv *This content is for informational and educational purposes only. Today, I watched the finale of a reality show with my family. From the start, there has been one team that stood out as the most deserving, but the show was still so captivating that I found myself watching it every week without fail. While we were watching, my mom told my dad why she wanted a particular team to win. She said one of the competitors reminded her of her brother. That made me think about what made the show so engaging - it’s the relatable personalities, emotional moments, unexpected drama, humour, creativity, and all the little things that connect with the audience. Then I realized these aren’t just elements of a show - they’re part of life too. Whether it’s in academics, badminton, or even family interactions, these factors are present in different ways. What stood out to me about the winning team was their teamwork, decision-making, creativity, and persistence. They gave their best in every challenge, and it paid off. Watching them reminded me of how I approach badminton. The focus, teamwork, and strategies needed to win a match are very similar to what they demonstrated. It’s not just about playing the game; it’s about learning, growing, and giving your all. The show taught me that success comes from effort, determination, and working together - whether it’s on TV, on the court, or in life. #teamwork #strategicthinking #creativity #persistence #engagingaudience
