Did you know that precast concrete is the ideal construction material for data centers? Data centers are rapidly growing in the U.S., and precast concrete is a well-suited building material designed to meet your construction needs. Precast concrete is ready-made to match project expectations and meet quick paced delivery requirements. Data centers hold some of the most valuable tools and equipment which help run our economy, from search engines to e-commerce. With the idea to protect these tools and meet sustainability efforts, energy efficiency and durability are top priority for data centers. Using precast concrete insulated panels allows the structure to consume less energy and outperform other wall systems. Learn more about data centers and precast concrete in this article of the Fall ASCENT issue, which highlights DC Blox. https://lnkd.in/g6eP5HhE #howprecastbuilds #precastconcrete #construction #datecenters #energyefficient #precastpanels #precastprotectslife #sustainability #sustainable #ascent

Data centre roof weatherproofing design: The sooner a Data Centre is weatherproofed, the sooner it can operate and create revenue. Regardless of the roof type, installation methods, and roof build-up components, products that can help expedite the weatherproofing stage can be crucial to giving the Data Centre an edge in an incredibly competitive sector. The cost and the speed of assembly are two of the main drivers for Data Centre roof assembly specification. The weight and potential failure of the roof mounted plant and a large number of various types of service penetrations to the roof can play a role in the roof design and specification. Another factor is the intensity of roof traffic during the initial installation. The frequent roof traffic may remain once the building is finished, as the installed plant requires continuous maintenance. Dropped tools or removing equipment for servicing can pose a puncture risk to the waterproofing membrane...unless the concrete slab itself is a moisture barrier, which is where MARKHAM plays a crucial role in the concrete waterproofing design specification. Moisture and other contaminant ingress is eliminated if the concrete is treated with nano-silicas which remain active for the life of the structure, internally waterproofing the concrete matrix. #datacentre #concretetechnology #innovativedesign

Fire Safety in Wooden Data Centers: Myth or Reality? The fire safety of wooden data centers is often questioned, but advancements in engineered wood and fire prevention technology make these structures highly resilient. Materials like cross-laminated timber (CLT) and glued laminated timber (glulam) are treated to resist fire, forming a charred layer on the surface when exposed to high heat. This layer slows the spread of flames and preserves structural integrity. Engineered wood has a predictable burn rate, allowing for precise fire safety planning. Unlike steel, which can weaken under extreme heat, treated wood can remain stable for longer. Modern wooden data centers are also equipped with advanced detection and suppression systems, meeting stringent safety standards through rigorous testing. Rather than being a myth, fire safety in wooden data centers is a well-supported reality, proving that eco-friendly construction can also be safe. #WoodenDataCenters #SustainableTech #FireSafety #EcoFriendlyDesign #EngineeredWood #GreenInfrastructure #DataCenterInnovation #CLTTechnology #FutureOfData #FireResistantMaterials #ModernArchitecture #SafeAndSustainable #TechForGood #GreenDataCenters #DataCenterSafety
