Imagine that a vicious disease, irresponsibly spread by some of the largest healthcare companies in the world, could be treated or avoided with a plant. Then imagine you were either forbidden from, or afraid of, even mentioning that plant's name for fear of ridicule from your peers -- or worse, losing your license to practice medicine. That is the situation today with cannabis. Most people today, either do not take the plant seriously as medicine, or have been instructed not to because of prohibitive laws. Health and public health practitioners frequently acknowledge its efficacy privately, but will not express this professionally or publicly. They are programmed to advise that cannabis treatments for disease or pain relief etc. "need more evidence." This is said, even though cannabis was used by humans for millennia with zero mortality, and Oxycontin, invented in the 1990s (A.D.!!), did what it does. Enter Marion McNabb, DrPH, MPH, who has been gathering just what the doctors ordered with Dr. Grinspoon under the Cannabis Center of Excellence, INC. Please share the post for this webinar series, that begins TOMORROW NIGHT at 7pm, to generate awareness with your contacts in healthcare, particularly those in public health. The series will discuss results from a study that looks at the use of cannabis for tapering, eliminating, or never using substances like opiates in the first place. It's long past time we all (including cannabis professionals and companies, by the way) take cannabis seriously. Doing so is critical if we ever want it be an option for so many who are in immediate need of its many therapeutic and at times lifesaving potential.

Last week, our COO, Graham Woodward , sat down with Business of Cannabis | Europe to discuss expanding access to #medicalcannabis training for healthcare professionals in the UK, 6 years on from its legalisation in 2018. When asked about Releaf's approach to onboarding both new patients and new staff, Graham commented: 'There’s often a disparity between the potential patient demographic and the number of doctors available who are equipped to prescribe. While this can be a limiting factor, our proactive recruitment, training programs, and collaborative environment help us address this gap and ensure we’re continually growing our capacity to meet patient needs. We currently handle approximately 100 new patients a day, which is a capacity we deliberately maintain to ensure every patient receives quality care. We’ve scaled our operations to meet this level of demand.' Our success is evident; Releaf's combination of a detailed training and onboarding programme for clinicians, consequent highly trained specialists, lowest patient to support specialist ratio in the sector and £2M proprietary HealthTech platform, allows us handle approximately 100 new patients daily.
