At the BAU fair in Munich, SSAB will present SSAB Fossil-free™ steel and SSAB Zero™, two unique steels with virtually zero carbon emissions. These steels will make an impact on our future cities built in a more sustainable way. Today, one of the main driving forces in construction is sustainability. And sustainable construction requires greener building materials. Using SSAB Fossil-free™ steel, SSAB Zero™ and GreenCoat® color coated steel with a bio-based coating will reduce the environmental footprint of buildings significantly, and would be a major step forward in sustainable construction, both for new builds and renovations. Visit us at the IFBS stand in hall B2, stand 303. Image from kropka studio / klub architekci #BAU2025 #GreenCoatsteel #SSAB #SSABZero #Fossilfree

𝗥𝗼𝗯𝗲𝗿𝘁 𝗕𝗶𝗿𝗱 𝗚𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗽 𝗮𝘁 𝗔𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗮𝗻 𝗦𝘁𝗲𝗲𝗹 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟰! RBG Principal Engineer, Edward Bond, will participate in a panel discussion on "Design for Deconstruction" alongside experts from Populous, Arup, and TTW Engineers (Taylor Thomson Whitting) this Monday, 9 September. At RBG, we believe looking beyond a building’s intended life is a critical stage in the whole of life carbon assessment. This approach helps avoid unnecessary waste and supports the circular economy. Our patented Autobox system exemplifies this thinking, developed as an assembly of parts to support quick installation and seamless deconstruction, allowing structures to be repurposed as the demands of our built environment evolve. If you're curious about Autobox or want to explore other circular economy themes, don't miss the chance to connect with Ed at the conference! Last year we were featured on 7NEWS Australia for our prefabrication approach, which will see us producing up to 1,500-2,500 homes per year once fully operational! Our robotic-powered factory launched in December, is already boosting the local economy and significantly reducing construction timelines. Our partnership with The Pentarch Group ensures sustainable, locally sourced timber is at the core of our designs, while robotic automation enhances efficiency and reduces waste. Watch the full feature now. #SustainableConstruction #TimberTech #Innovation #FutureHousing #GTT #BuildingInnovation

Research and innovation are essential for the Built Environment (BE) sector to stay resilient and future-ready. Since 2017, the Cities of Tomorrow R&D (CoT) programme has been fostering innovation and empowering BE professionals to reshape the BE sector to address challenges such as climate change, ageing infrastructure and manpower productivity. The CoT has supported several projects including boosting productivity at PPVC fit-out factories through advanced robotics and automation (R&A) systems, as well as enabling a paradigm shift for cooling office buildings through the development of mixed-mode ventilation solutions for the tropics. 📢 We are therefore happy to announce the launch of the 5th CoT grant call! We are looking for solutions under the Advanced Construction and Sustainable Built Environment research thrusts. Ready to be part of the change? Find out more at https://lnkd.in/g2_DExie. Together, let’s push boundaries, embrace innovation, and build the cities of tomorrow, today. #BCA #BuildSG #CoT #AdvancedConstruction #Sustainability #FutureReady #CitiesOfTomorrow

Something exciting that few of us saw coming is the development, all around Asia and Europe, of light rail and even high-speed trains in Cross-Laminated Timber (CLT), biocomposites and other biobased materials. It doesn’t just give them a cool look (it does that too); it means lighter trains with better energy efficiency and superior thermal and acoustic insulation to keep passengers comfortable, while the strength and flexibility of CLT handle high-speed vibrations with ease. Plus, prefabrication speeds up construction and ensures top-notch quality, while future upgrades and recycling are facilitated. And of course, wood interiors create a warm, inviting space, making journeys more enjoyable and less stressful. An important additional benefit: these various types of biobased materials can store tons of carbon per train, bringing carbon negative transportation into view. Any railroad museum will show you that trains partly made of biological materials go back as far as the history of trains themselves. And up until the 60s and 70s, groundbreaking experiments were conducted- I’ve found some great archive images from those days. However, some of those ideas were ahead of their time. Recent technological innovations have finally made them viable, heralding a new era of biobased train designs. P.S. 😜 #MagnificAI #Midjourney #AIxDesign #SustainableTransport #HighSpeedTrains #BiobasedMaterials #CLT #Innovation #GreenTech #Sustainability
