The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has mandated that telecom companies offer separate recharge plans for voice and SMS without data: Validity: The validity of special recharge coupons has been extended from 90 days to up to 365 days. Denomination: Telecom operators can issue recharge vouchers of any value, but they must also offer a voucher worth at least Rs 10 Color coding: Telecom operators must do away with color coding of vouchers. In a move to benefit lakhs of consumers, the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India(TRAI) has introduced new guidelines directing telecom firms to offer voice call and SMS-only tariff plans. This decision aims to relieve approximately 150 million 2G users and those who use secondary SIM cards solely for voice calls and SMS. As per the new regulations, telecom operators are required to offer separate Special Tariff Vouchers (STVs) specifically for voice and SMS services. This change is expected to benefit consumers, especially senior citizens and those residing in rural areas of the country.
