Imagine you just received 10 million dollars to build a company from the ground up to bring your idea to life. What do you next? You RETAIN a recruiter. (emphasis on retain) The first few hires are crucial to company success, you shouldn't leave that up to chance. It’s not simply a question of whether you can afford it based on your current financials. You need to consider the bigger picture to determine whether the timing is right and whether your hire can truly drive growth. Here’s what to think about: 📍 Is your business in a strong enough position: Beyond just cash flow, ask yourself if your business has the foundation for growth. Are you confident that with the right person in place—and the proper incentives and structure—your company is poised to thrive? Can you onboard this hire, ramp them up effectively, and see a return through consistent profit generation? Financial readiness alone isn’t enough; your business must be primed for success. 📍 Is your business development (BD) process proven and scalable: If you’ve fine-tuned your BD process to the point that the only thing holding you back is the time you spend servicing current clients, it may be time to bring in a team member. Their presence would allow you to focus on expanding your client base while they handle delivery. This shift can unlock greater revenue potential if your system is ready for scale. 📍 Can your BD process be easily transferred to someone else: A key factor in determining if now is the right time to hire is whether your BD processes are streamlined enough to hand off to someone else. Have you developed a prospecting methodology that’s clear, replicable, and can be taught? 🎉 One Month into My Business Journey! 🎉 It’s hard to believe that it’s already been a month since I took the leap into starting my own business! This past month has been a whirlwind of challenges, growth, and successes but I can honestly say I am enjoying every step of it! What have I learned so far? A lot........ Wearing every hat can sometimes be a daunting task but actually, I find myself celebrating the small wins more than before and seeing each set back as a learning opportunity. Keeping focused, working along my plan and keeping an eye on my measures of success is allowing me to keep perspective. The support has been amazing from my other half, family, friends, partners and colleagues new and old so thank you to you all!
