Hiring Manager: "Sorry, you're overqualified for the job" Candidate: "Why, I really wanted it?" Hiring Manager: "You've 12 years experience, we only want 5" - - - - - What does being overqualified for a job actually mean? NOT: - Being too old - or having too many years of experience BUT THE JOB: - Is a backwards step - The responsibilities are too junior - The territory or headcount is too small - The salary is too low versus the candidate's expectations 🔥 Too many candidates are ruled out for being "overqualified". Agree?

Internal referral - ✅ Near perfect match to JD - ✅ Excellent Phone Screen - ✅ Stellar Interview with Hiring Manager - ✅ 3 rounds of panel interviews resulting in “incredibly positive feedback” - ✅ Multiple letters of recommendation from former colleagues currently working at interview company - ✅ Incredible External references - ✅ Excellent Interview with Site Head - ✅ These events transpired over a span of nearly 3 months only to find out that I did not get the job. In my life, I’ve often struggled to ask for help. Today, I’m stepping out of my comfort zone to ask for help securing employment. It has been 6 months since I was laid off. I’ve applied to hundreds upon hundreds of jobs that I was more than qualified for only to come up empty handed. I’ve been told I was overqualified, underqualified, didn’t have EXACT experience in a niche area, and ghosted by countless recruiters. I have yet to receive any feedback regarding where I can improve. Only cold, automated rejection emails. What do I bring to your company? I have nearly 20 years of experience in the biotechnology industry with almost half of this being in leadership roles. As a former development scientist, I bring a knowledge and understanding of the science behind the processes and how that can be used in conjunction with a Quality process. I have molecular diagnostic experience, cell culture experience, and a complete understanding of cell therapy and biologics. I have managed QA, QC, Manufacturing and Supply Chain functions. Couple this with a hunger to get back into the work force and you’ll be hiring a greatful, tenacious, intelligent, servant leader that will go the extra mile to succeed and make sure his teams and company succeed. I would love to be given an opportunity to bring a higher standard of Quality to either a start up needing the foundation or an established environment with opportunities for improvement. I will not quit. I will not give up. If you know me or have worked with me, please leave a comment. I could use the assistance. #opentowork This is my ask, please share.

💰💰The most underpaid people in the country are….. Business development people! Day after day of grinding on the phone, social, email. 📧 95% of the time, even for the most talented of people you hear… ❌“No eat my sh*t and never call me again!” 💩 How many people have the bounce-back-ability to face rejection time after time?? Not many!! I’ve met CEOs who once worked in a shop and think they are the expert of all things Business Development but… Have never done the grind! They don’t know the pain! Right now if you ever did the grind in BD OR If your BD is looking for a job… You will empathise. If not…. You already moved on! DM me if you want a chat about jobs either client or candidate. No hard sell ever! My BD approach is very gentle but please by return don’t ask me to eat 💩😂 #recruitment #medicaldevices #medicalequipment #tech

Mystery of Hiring Manager - A Paradox: Candidate 1: "I have the perfect experience." Hiring Manager: "You’re overqualified." Candidate 2: "I have little experience but great potential." Hiring Manager: "You’re underqualified." Candidate 3: "I’m within the age bracket you specified." Hiring Manager: "We need someone with fresh ideas." Candidate 4: "I’m young and full of energy." Hiring Manager: "We need someone with more maturity." Candidate 5: "I can start immediately!" Hiring Manager: "We prefer someone who can provide a longer notice period from their last job." Conclusion: The perfect candidate might be one who doesn’t exist, but hey, don’t worry, you’ll be rejected anyway! #Hiring #Paradox
