Excellent job by KTITOR for burst test chamber. They follow rule 1: don't use concrete. Concrete is very strong in compression, but has terrible impact properties. I've seen many concrete burst test chambers that were really beautiful (and expensive) works of art. They cracked and fractured within the first few tests. Steel is the way to go.

Among all the fundamental process variables, temperature is perhaps the most reliable. Flow measurement often involves orifice plate meters, which are prone to various operational and configuration issues. These meters extrapolate flow based on differential pressure, which changes non-linearly with flow variations. In contrast, temperature is commonly measured by thermocouples—simple devices consisting of a junction of two dissimilar metals that generate a small voltage proportional to the temperature difference between the measurement junction and the reference point. Thermocouples are inexpensive, accurate, and widely used in many applications. However, the Thermal Reactor of a Claus Sulfur Recovery Unit (SRU) presents a unique challenge, as it is not a typical application. SPM-2300 Fixed Bed Reactor The Fixed Bed Reactor can be configured to react any two gases. The reaction can be exothermic or endothermic. The default configuration catalytically reacts ethylene (reactant A) with benzene (reactant B), an exothermic reaction, to produce ethylbenzene (product C), an intermediate used in the manufacture of styrene. No side or competing reactions are simulated. Reactants A and B are fed to each of four fixed beds through fired heaters where their temperatures are raised to the optimum reaction temperature. Reactant A temperature is maintained substantially lower than reactant B to allow for inter-bed quenching. Reactant A feedstock comes from a typical refinery FCC with a substantial concentration of inerts. The inerts serve to dilute the feed and aid in preventing a reactor run-away. Reactant B is of the highest available industrial grade. The reactor beds are sized to convert all of reactant A to product.
