Applause to our energetic team to support Hong Kong Playground Association which aims at using sports as intervention tools to nurture our younger generation. Other than Marathon and trail runs, there are also water sports around the cities that make Hong Kong the best place for stay. Today, the young warriors from HKT Digital Ventures participated in the 2024 Around The Island Race ERG Challenge 45K Relay, competing against the rowers on water. It took 3 hours and 50 minutes to complete, just 20 minutes behind the champion MTR. Odense Boldklub (OB), one of Denmark's historic football clubs, have faced significant challenges on the field in recent years, culminating in relegation last season. Yet, the club have managed to achieve remarkable commercial success despite these sporting setbacks. Odense Boldklub’s commercial director, Jack Jørgensen, shares the strategies that have turned these challenges into victories. 1: How did OB achieve commercial success despite poor on-field performance? In 2018, OB shifted its focus from relying on sporting results to enhancing the fan experience and community engagement. This strategic pivot included initiatives like creating a talent program for young entrepreneurs, opening matchday fanzones with local music and food, and developing targeted marketing campaigns. These efforts increased matchday revenue by 160% and significantly boosted season ticket sales and attendance. 2: What role did community engagement play in OB’s strategy? OB worked to strengthen its connection with the local community in Odense. The club engaged residents within a 5 km radius of the stadium, promoted local talents through initiatives like Start OB, and involved educational institutions to attract young fans. 3: How has OB enhanced the stadium experience to attract more spectators? Recognizing that football alone was not enough to draw crowds, OB developed innovative stadium experiences tailored to different audience groups. The club segmented the matchday experience to cater to families, hardcore fans, and young people. How to define this year? A roller-coaster, for sure. 🎢 2024 has been a year of challenges, milestones, and moments of pure joy. So many (too many!) things happened, and I honestly can’t wait to see what’s next. In a nutshell, with Bounce, we have: ✅ Finally launched the Bounce Tube after nearly 3 years of R&D ✅ Delivered thousands of Bounce Tubes worldwide ✅ Managed to close a funding round in less than 6 months with some great new investors ✅ Recylced more than 200 000 balls between Belgium and France (and it's only the beginning) ✅ Won the Belgium Impact Start-up Awards But beyond the achievements, it’s the journey that stands out: 💡 The late-night brainstorms. 💪 The relentless problem-solving. 🌍 The incredible support from our community, partners, investors and of course our team (the best). Here’s to keeping the momentum going in 2025—let’s continue to push boundaries, innovate, and make an impact (and make tennis and padel more sustainable, one ball at a time). 🚀
