A medical assistant from the Great Plains who is a single mom to three children, pregnant with her fourth, and caring for ailing mother. Her annual income is $45,000. She struggles with food and housing insecurity for her family. She has trouble finding support for her own mental health. But she loves her job, and told Emma Nelson: "I love helping people and seeing smiles on their faces. Because I know somebody has it worst than me, I try not to complain much. I really enjoy seeing others happy." This is one of the grantees the Zorya Foundation community is supporting with one of our first five full-year childcare grants. Zorya Foundation's #GivingTuesday campaign starts tomorrow. We're raising FOUR new full year childcare grants for healthcare workers, a goal of $48,000. Early donors have us more than 75% of the way toward our goal. Will you join us? 100% of individual donations go directly to childcare grants. 4wDone! This is an easy donation decision. So few organizations provide simple, direct support to women for childcare. Even better, grants go to women in healthcare…the ones taking care of everyone else. I love knowing that my donation provides direct care for children and therefore also contributes to each woman’s earning potential, which is so critical for the family’s health and wellbeing. Needless to say, it’s also indirect help for the rest of us: A well workforce means better healthcare. Thanks for stepping up, Zorya Foundation!
