Many skilled craft people are looking for work. Even though there’s not enough labor to go around, I’m seeing a trend for those that possess a specific skill set looking to work with organizations who value their years of experience. It’s apparent that these individuals don’t want to go to a shop environment or even a jobsite where they are performing the same monotonous task over-and-over-and- over again. It looks like these highly skilled workers are looking for companies that value their years of experience while providing them with diversified, and interesting tasks that can be as varied as hours in the day. I had a conversation with an organization this week who’s new hires fit a unique profile. They need more workers like you with the flexibility to work a variety of jobs and perform work that makes a difference. I can put you in touch with some good people if you are a: - Welder - Pipe Fitter - Mill Wright/ Mechanic - Client Focused Mechanical Engineer Let me know if I can help you or someone in your network. Asking for a friend.

Is a mechanic a mechanic a mechanic. Really like the guy who owns the local shop, let’s call him Jay, not his real name. Amazing work. $220/hr is worth every penny. Haven’t met all the staff and I don’t need to. I know when Jay tells me that he will solve an issue - I can call it done. It’s not always perfect. Sometimes it takes an extra couple days. Sometimes Jay finds something else and it’s over budget. Broke a cv and the left and right shafts had fused together. Twice the cost. Nasty surprise. Jay couldn’t know until he tried to pull it apart. See, I don’t hire Jay so the project is always on budget. I certainly don’t hire Jay so the project cost is the cheapest. And I don’t hire Jay so there is no struggle. I hire Jay to solve a problem. The moment that I lose sight of that, then I’ll be gambling with new mechanics, fighting about rates, pinching every penny due to rising costs, repeatedly battling broken projects, stressed dealing with people I don’t trust - just like many of the people that I tow out of the ditch while on the trail.

Certain employees must have documented electrical safety training. I see $7000 as a common citation. 90% of companies with under 300 employees are probably not in compliance. Table S-4 - Typical Occupational Categories of Employees Facing a Higher Than Normal Risk of Electrical Accident Occupation Blue collar supervisors. Electrical and electronic engineers. Electrical and electronic equipment assemblers. Electrical and electronic technicians. Electricians.Industrial machine operators. Material handling equipment operators. Mechanics and repairers. Painters. Riggers and roustabouts. Stationary engineers. Welders. NOTE: Workers in these groups do not need to be trained if their work or the work of those they supervise does not bring them or the employees they supervise close enough to exposed parts of electric circuits operating at 50 volts or more to ground for a hazard to exist.

Are you: - A toolmaker short of a TPM? - Two passes missing of a Welder? - A ‘G76’ missing on your thread? - Missing a Quality inspector without Aberlink knowledge? - Production Managing without any Lean strategies? - PPAP's piling up without an Engineer. - A setter without a programmer. 🛠 I have 12+ years previous experience on the shop floor as a Wire Eroder and Injection Mould Toolmaker, so hopefully will have some perspective in requirements. Type of roles we recruit for: - Engineering: · CNC Programmers · Welders/Fabricators · CNC Setter/Operators · Sales Engineers/Field Service · Fabricators/Welders · Manual Machinists · Press Brake P/S/Operators · CAD Designers · Toolmakers · Setters/Operators/Technicians/Slingers · Process Technicians · Quality Inspectors/Engineers · Production/Quality Managers · Operatives/Hands · Storemen/Warehouse/Drivers · General Labourers/Machine Operators · Maintenance Technicians · Office/Admin ✉️mike@contek.co.uk 📞07508918602 If you would like us to pop across in person, I would happily discuss what we can offer - we are not a typical high street agency with high fees. #recruiting #engineering #recruitment #jobs #jobsearch #experience #careers #hiring #lean #quality #machining #cnc #toolmaker #candidates #jobhunt #recruitmentlife
