Happy Halloween 🎃 Whether you're out trick-or-treating, celebrating with friends, or staying in, a few easy safety tips can help make the night spooktacular for everyone. 🎃Slow down: Please drive at a reduced speed in residential areas where children will be trick-or-treating. 👻Be alert: Keep an eye out for children crossing the street, especially in costumes that may be difficult to see. 🕸️Avoid distractions: Put away your phone and stay focused on the road to prevent accidents. 🕷️Use headlights: Turn on your headlights even before it gets dark to enhance visibility. 🛑Never drink and drive: If you plan to celebrate with alcohol, ensure you have a designated driver or another plan to get home safely. Impaired driving is illegal and dangerous. 🍭Be mindful of costumes: Watch for groups of children and be especially cautious, as costumes can obscure their visibility. 🚗Park safely: If you’re attending events, drive cautiously through parking lots, park in well-lit areas and check for pedestrians before opening your car doors or leaving. Let’s work together to create a fun and safe environment for everyone this Halloween. By being cautious and respectful of all Islanders, we can ensure that this holiday is filled with joy rather than tragedy. https://lnkd.in/g8y9EWTM

Halloween is here, bringing a night of excitement for families and treat-or-treaters alike! My three kids are ready to hit the neighborhood tonight, and like every parent, I want to make sure it's safe and fun for everyone. With the festivities comes the responsibility of keeping our homes safe for visitors, trick-or-treaters, and our own loved ones. Here are a few tips to keep everyone safe this Halloween: 💡 Illuminate Pathways: Bright pathways and driveways help prevent trips and tumbles. Motion lights can help brighten dark areas without diminishing that spooky vibe. 👻 Secure Loose Decorations: From elaborate props to fragile decor, make sure all items are securely placed to avoid accidents. Items that are costly to repair or replace are best kept out of high-traffic areas. 🕯 Limit Open Flames: Battery-operated lights are safer alternatives for creating that eerie glow, especially around children in costumes. 🎃 Make Yourself Visible: If you're planning to walk around your neighborhood this evening, make sure you are visible to vehicles in the dark. Glow sticks, reflective tape, or LED accessories are simple additions that can make a big difference. Wishing everyone a safe & happy Halloween, filled with lots of treats and hopefully no tricks!

🎃 Stay Spooky, But Safe! 🎃 Halloween is all about fun and creativity, but safety should always come first! Here are some fire safety tips to keep your Halloween celebrations safe: • 🎃 Use battery-operated candles or glow sticks in jack-o-lanterns instead of real candles to prevent accidental fires. • 🕸️ Keep all decorations away from open flames, light bulbs, and heaters. Dried flowers, cornstalks, and crepe paper can catch fire easily. • 👻 Choose flame-resistant costumes and avoid long, trailing fabrics. • 🚪 Make sure all exits are clear of decorations so nothing blocks escape routes in case of an emergency. • 💡 Remind children to stay away from open flames. Teach them how to stop, drop, and roll if their clothes catch fire. • 🔦 Use flashlights or battery-powered candles for lighting instead of open flames to light up your porch or walkway. Let’s make sure this Halloween is filled with fun and safe memories!
