📈🏠 UK House Prices are on the rise! May 2024 saw a 1.2% increase in sold prices from April. Ed Phillips, CEO of Lomond, says the market is heating up despite high mortgage rates. With a new government and possible interest rate cuts, more buyers are diving in to secure their dream homes. But remember, many will carry their mortgage into retirement. The later-life market is evolving, with equity release and lifetime mortgage products becoming crucial. Advisors must help ensure a smooth lending journey for all homeowners. #UKProperty #RealEstate #HousingMarket #MortgageTips

It was only 14 years ago that nearly 9% of U.S. homes were 90+ days delinquent on their mortgages. Hard to believe when today it’s less than 1% of homeowners in this predicament. My post yesterday was an illustration of why American homeowners are in such a strong position now… dramatic home price appreciation since the pandemic and long-term low fixed-rate mortgages being the biggest catalysts for increased homeowners’ equity.

Fixed versus variable mortgages - which option is better? Do you end up paying a lot more with one over the other? The constant battle continues to rage on, which requires homeowners to really crunch the numbers and take a deep look at their particular financial situation so they can make the right decision that suits their long-term monetary needs. Many economists have predicted that we will see a slow but steady decrease in interest rates throughout the year. This means that viable rate mortgages might become the norm again, after fixed mortgages became the popular choice during the shaky fiscal times during and after the pandemic. The conversation may be an uncomfortable one, but it is one that needs to be had before taking on any type of mortgage. #fixedvsvariable #whatmortgagetypeisbest #mortgagequestions #ancaster #dundas #hamilton #stoneycreek #burlington #binbrook
