Stoneweg has bought the former Comedia cinema on Passeig de Gràcia, which has been closed since January, to give light to a new cultural facility - the future "Museo Carmen Thyssen #Barcelona". Initially, there had been talk of a rental agreement with the owners, the Pla i Planàs families, but negotiations have finally led to a purchase and sale agreement so as not to be restricted and to be able to carry out a major project. Once a 200-foot-deep limestone quarry in Sweden, it’s now a stunning open-air theater with acoustics rivaling Europe’s best outdoor stages. Since 1995, it’s hosted concerts and performances that echo through its massive stone walls. It’s a powerful reminder that mines and quarries don’t have to be "the end of the story."
