Check out this short video on @Deborah L. Rhode Center on the Legal Profession at Stanford Law School’s groundbreaking effort to reform the justice system by making it more accessible, transparent, and equitable. This Transparency Project, a collaboration between Professors Nora and David Freeman Engstrom and Stanford Law students, leverages large language models and extensive research on protective orders, secret settlements, and NDAs to shed empirical light on the critical debate around litigation transparency and access to justice. This is a prime example of an “only at Stanford” project where we can significantly impact the civil litigation system by promoting openness, transparency, and fairness. The history of justice reform is littered with against-the-odds policy victories that died on the vine of implementation. That’s why the Center for Justice Innovation is partnering with New York Law School to launch the Institute for Justice Policy Implementation dedicated to making justice policies work in practice. The Institute will combine the Center’s deep understanding of how policy translates on the ground with New York Law School’s focus on real-world legal practice, providing a forum for policymakers, advocates, and practitioners to work together to identify solutions to implementation challenges before they sidetrack vital reforms. https://lnkd.in/ebQZyTpp
