**Please share this message with anyone who has contact with 13 to 22-year-olds who were born in the UK and could have a Child Trust Fund they are unaware of.*** The Work Out Your Money project Citizens Advice Havant, has been informed that at least one company (possibly unregulated) is charging young people for finding their Child Trust Fund. (As much as 25% of their fund or £350). A reasonable proportion of the targeted population may come from lower-income families. Our financial education workshops can help young people find their Child Trust Fund using the free tools listed below and all they will need is their National Insurance number and date of birth. We offer these workshops FREE and we are currently fundraising with the Aviva Community Fund (Aviva matching donations) to spread our message far and wide. I find it really interesting* that independent schools are suggesting the removal of DGR status from their building fund would "punish families". Just taking my old (private) high school as an example, a quick scan of their profile in the ACNC shows they have net assets of $177m. Name for me a government school that has anywhere near that in the bank. Not to mention the countless small charities and groups that are ineligible for DGR status, despite having a far clearer community benefit than an elite education business. Saying this change would punish families is also intentionally misleading - as the below article states: "The report did not, it should be pointed out, advocate removing all forms of tax deductibility for donations to schools – just those that skew towards the privileged." It's pretty simple I think. DGR status should not be manipulated for the increased benefit of businesses with large amounts of accumulated wealth that primarily serve rich people. *and what I mean by interesting is galling https://lnkd.in/gXb867n7

🎉 Today, we are really excited to celebrate the launch of Round One of the Improving Lives Through Advice (ILTA) grant programme which will provide 5-year core funding to 42 frontline legal advice charities based across England. ⚖ We are looking forward to working with this cohort over the next five years to improve access to high quality specialist free legal advice for the people, places and communities that need it the most. We will also be working with our grantees to build a strong evidence base that will enable us to continue to make the case for further investment in the sector. 📣 Phil Chamberlain, England Director at The National Lottery Community Fund, said: “Our funding strengthens society and improves lives. It is impressive how much case studies do to identify the root problems that need to be addressed in order to provide affordable/obtainable housing, which strongly indicate thats a new innovative technology is needed that better utilizes available resources while making the most of the declining workforce in the construction industry. To reiterate... I am ready/anxious to prove the merits of my claims, that our Uni-Panelized Class 3 Panelized Technology can successfully address our nations dire housing needs.
