Crack sealing involves applying a sealant to cracks on the pavement to prevent water and other particles from seeping in and causing damage. This cost-effective method can extend the life of the pavement by several years. Roads that have been crack sealed can be reopened to traffic almost immediately with the use of a de-tacking agent. To ensure the best results, crack sealing should be done in the spring or fall when cracks are neither too open nor completely closed. It is important to be cautious not to apply too much sealant or create drips and puddles during the process. Using a drip stopper on the applicator can help prevent excess sealant from being applied. #civilengineering #construction #highways #cracksealing

We are blasting the myths! Myth four: "I can use the Kinetic Water Ram on any job." No one machine is perfect for every job. The Kinetic Water Ram must have a column of water in the drain between the tip of the tool and the clog to be effective. This is usually not an issue because when your customer calls you, they already have a clogged drain. The Kinetic Water Ram will clear 90% of sink, tub, and shower stoppages. And at a weight of just 11 lbs., the Water Ram should be the first tool you grab from your truck. #generalpipecleaners #plumbing #plumbingcontractors #plumbingmaintenance #plumbingtips #draincleaning #draincleaner #plumbingtools #drainbrain

How to remove water based paint from concrete with a power washer: Pump spray a graffiti remover or a thinner (we use Undun graffiti removal or Taginator) Let it sit 15 minutes or longer (brushing it in helps) Turbo nozzle with hot water (laugh, but the turbo is awesome for paint spills). Note if it’s latex paint I highly recommend sand blasting or dustless blasting, even a power washer will take forever to remove it. Make sure you place a sand dam at the drains and pick up the water with whatever method you use (we like using the ST-36 sludge sucker from Suttner). https://lnkd.in/gKFs_dYK

Space, the final frontier... Well, not space as such. But spacing requirements are by far the biggest issue which crops up multiple times every single day on new build and refurbishment sites alike. Spacings alone are the single most cause of an installation been rejected as compliant, against the product manufacturers tested details. The installation of passive fire products require that the spacings between services are a minimum of 100mm, as per BS EN1366 testing. There are some product test data which can reduce the required spacing, eg. putty pad, ablative batt patress seals, etc. but these vary by manufacturer. The cost of a simple direct to wall mastic seal is a few quid. The remedial cost required to make it compliant, can be far more due to a significant uplift in labour time, and materials used. #quantitysurveyor #qs #passivefireprotection #firesafety #fireprotection #lifesafety #firestop #buildingmaintenance #propertymaintenance #propertymanagement

Its your Pipe Boot...... A pipe boot is a Maintenance Item on your roof. They are a type of flashing installed around vent pipes on a roof to create a watertight seal. Vent pipes, also known as plumbing vents, allow air to flow through the plumbing system and must penetrate the roof, which creates potential entry points for water. The pipe boot, usually made of rubber and silicone and fits snugly around the vent pipe and integrates with the roofing materials to prevent leaks. Wondering how to safely seal a detention tank? Sealing a detention tank with sealant in the rain can be challenging but achievable with the right approach. Here are some tips to ensure a safe and effective seal: 1. Prepare the Surface: Ensure the tank surface is clean and as dry as possible. Use a cloth to wipe away excess water and debris. 2. Choose the Right Sealant: Use a high-quality, waterproof sealant tape designed for wet conditions. 3. Apply Sealant Carefully: Press the sealant tape firmly onto the surface, smoothing out any air bubbles or wrinkles. 4. Seal the Edges: Pay extra attention to the edges of the sealant to ensure a complete seal. 5. Double Check: Once applied, inspect the seal to ensure it’s secure and there are no gaps. How do I know the line is completely coated? Coating is batched between two pigs and propelled with dried air. The rear pigs durometer is chosen to “wick the paint on like a squeegee”. We build up the layers through multiple passes. As the slug is under pressure and moves at a controlled rate of travel the coating is forced into the pipe walls and into any pitting, fish-hooks, undercuts, etc. This eliminates holiday issues and leaves an absolute minuscule chance that paint would not be applied to a certain area. Does this iconic sidekick look familiar? The AmphiBlast is your perfect sidekick for your blasting operation! The AmphiBlast system is the industry's most efficient and productive dual-purpose abrasive blaster. Unlike other blast systems that mix abrasive and water inside the vessel, the AmphiBlast system injects water into the blast stream after the metering valve, using a patent-pending, user-friendly and uniquely precise water injection system. With this system, you can quickly and consistently control every aspect: fine-tune air, abrasive and water flows to achieve optimal blasting performance, all while maintaining efficient use of grit and water. Switch between wet or dry blast, blowoff, and softwash™ without having to reset your air, abrasive or water, using a central, easy-to-use gauge console.
