https://lnkd.in/eUkrhXn6 "The Energy Crisis " Hypothesis: Tight muscle bands(trigger points) will decrease blood flow to the area of tightness , lack of blood flow means lacks of nutrients and oxygen which will lead to lack of oxygen and accumulation of waste products leading to sustained muscle contraction and tightness and the cycle repeated( remember muscle need energy to relax- a combination of lack of ATP and accumulation of calcium in cell). Same pathophysiology as rigor mortis post mortem. To look for trigger points you can check for these tight bands of muscle or try with dry needle/wet needle (containing anasthetic injection) and check for a local twitch response( confirms diagnosis, and better response to therapy).
