Financial Hub #Shanghai hosts one of the world's major financial centers, with the Shanghai Stock Exchange (SSE) being the world's third-largest by market capitalization. The city is a hub for both domestic and international financial transactions and has a significant influence on global finance. 2. Free Trade Zone The establishment of the Shanghai Free Trade Zone (FTZ) has been a landmark development. It offers a testing ground for economic and social reforms, including currency liberalization and easier access to overseas markets. The 24-kilometer Shenzhen-Zhongshan Corridor opened on June 30th, quickly becoming congested with 16,000 vehicles in just 2 hours. The Greater Bay Area, with 86 million residents, had been eagerly awaiting this project for 7 years. This monumental infrastructure now shortens travel time between Shenzhen and Zhuhai to 30 minutes, showcasing China's engineering prowess. The link’s significance extends beyond easing commutes; it's reshaping regional dynamics. Shenzhen's westward expansion and Guangzhou's strategic moves are creating new economic hubs. Hong Kong is also integrating more with the mainland, as seen with Ma'an Island becoming a key property destination. Cities in the Bay Area are now competing fiercely to attract industries and talent, with Zhongshan redeveloping large areas to accommodate new industries. This project creates a seamless transportation network, facilitating unprecedented economic integration. Using the perceived international image and collective pride in Hong Kong as the entry point, this article aims to discover the relationship between citizens’ trust in public authorities and urban technologies. Four angles of investigation are developed: the impact of cities’ promotion of their international image on local pride; the attitudinal and demographic characteristics of proud citizens; the linkage of local pride with public trust, and digital trust. This article uses data from a Hong Kong-based territory-wide survey in 2021 to conduct the analysis. The result suggests that public trust is an elemental factor having a positive relationship with collective pride and digital trust in Hong Kong. This article also identifies the group of citizens with the least pride. Today we had the pleasure of hosting a meeting between Hong Kong-Shenzhen Innovation and Technology Park Limited (HSITP) and Shenzhen-Hong Kong Science and Technology Innovation Cooperation Zone Development Co. Ltd. Given time… the Greater Bay Area (GBA) will surely blossom 🌸 Take the Shenzhen-Zhongshan link opening for example for a major milestone 🚀 President Xi Jinping on Sunday welcomed the opening of a road link that spans the Pearl River Delta and connects Shenzhen with Zhongshan, saying that it helps to promote market integration in the Greater Bay Area. The Shenzhen-Zhongshan link, which opened on Sunday afternoon, is expected to cut the journey time between the two cities to 30 minutes from two hours. In an area where there are 80 million people.
