【Honoured to Receive the CLP Community Partnership Award】 Last Saturday, the Welfare Council celebrated Senior Citizen's Day at the CLPV 30th Anniversary and Sharing the Festive Joy Celebration Luncheons and we were so honoured to receive the CLP Community Partnership Award! Huge thanks to CLP for this recognition and for their ongoing support of our work in the community. The senior members from our community centres had a wonderful time showcasing their upcycled fashion creations on the runway, alongside CLP volunteers. It was truly inspiring to see their energy and enthusiasm. We firmly believe that by working together, we can make a significant difference in the lives of those in need. GAIN - Guidance - Advice - Information - Network has been launched, a collaborative initiative between Age UK and Citizens Advice Mid Mercia. Age UK Birmingham's role within this project is designed to provide comprehensive support to individuals aged 65 and over across Birmingham. Their team of community-based advisors will focus on (among other things): Health and Wellbeing: Promoting a better quality of life. Welfare Benefits: Ensuring access to entitlements. Housing Support: Addressing housing concerns that may affect older adults Adult Social Care: Helping older adults to understand and access the support and care they need Social and Community Engagement: Tackling isolation and fostering connections. Appointments can be conducted either face-to-face at various community locations or over the telephone, ensuring accessibility for all.
