What benefits do you think come from investing time in community?
Community! Who else has been spending time building and aligning with their community? A LOT of you, it is a keyword that comes up over and over again - no matter what demographic or industry. Like you, supporting our community is important to us at Pixels & Scribbles, LLC as business owners and as individuals. We love our small town of Rice, Texas. One of the ways we show our support is using our skills to promote community events - especially the annual Fall Festival & Street Dance benefitting the Rice Volunteer Fire Department (the only rescue we have). We have big goals this year, and can't wait to share the highlight video afterward! 📷 : current FB promotion for the Rice Fall Festival & Street Dance by Pixels & Scribbles #community #socialmedia #digitalmarketing

Bring your community together and showcase your school’s spirit with a Summer Movie Night Extravaganza! 🎥 Here’s how: 1. 𝗣𝗶𝗰𝗸 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗠𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗲: Choose a family-friendly film that appeals to all ages. Consider classics, animated favorites, or recent hits that everyone will enjoy. Make sure to obtain the necessary screening rights. 🎞️ 𝟮. 𝗦𝗲𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝗰𝗲𝗻𝗲: Transform your school’s courtyard, playground, or a local park into an outdoor theater. Set up a large screen, comfy seating with blankets and lawn chairs, and string lights to create a magical atmosphere. 𝟯. 𝗣𝗿𝗲-𝗠𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗲 𝗙𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀: Start the evening with fun activities like face painting, games, and a photo booth with props related to the movie. This adds excitement and gives families more reasons to arrive early. 𝟰. 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹 𝗦𝗵𝗼𝘄𝗰𝗮𝘀𝗲: Before the movie begins, take a few minutes to introduce your school, highlight unique programs, and share upcoming events. Use this time to connect with families and provide information about enrollment opportunities. 𝟱. 𝗦𝗻𝗮𝗰𝗸𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗥𝗲𝗳𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗵𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀: Partner with local vendors or set up your own concession stands offering popcorn, drinks, and treats. Consider offering some items for free or at a low cost to encourage attendance. 🍿🍫 𝟲. 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗘𝗹𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀: Hand out glow sticks, themed crafts, or trivia sheets related to the movie. Engage the audience with a short quiz or contest before the screening, with small prizes for the winners. 𝟳. 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽𝘀: Collaborate with local businesses for sponsorships or donations. This not only helps with costs but also strengthens community ties. 🤝 𝟴. 𝗙𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗼𝘄 𝗨𝗽 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝘆 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗲𝗱: Collect contact information from attendees for future events and school newsletters. Send out thank-you emails with highlights from the night and reminders about school tours or open houses. By hosting a Summer Movie Night Extravaganza, you can create a fun and welcoming environment that brings families together, promotes your school, and fosters community spirit. It’s an engaging way to connect with prospective families and make lasting impressions. ✨ #CommunityOutreach #CharterSchoolSuccess #SummerMovieNight #FamilyEngagement #CreativeOutreach

Last year's data: 13 small parade trophies. 8 were never picked up. This year's experiment: 3 ridiculously awesome trophies. * Sandys Espress 20oz cappuccino for scale - Live in WA? Come to our 4th of July parade in Carnation WA. - https://lnkd.in/gVFFZjXx Over the past few years, I wanted to grow myself. I knew that my work projects would take a couple of years to show impact 🤞, so I wanted to add some other efforts to stretch and learn. One of those was my partner and I helping organize the 4th of July parade for the town of Carnation, which we had moved to the October beforehand. The first Carnation 4th of July parade we attended was the one we were being trained to take over the next year :) #LikeWeDo In the three years since then, I have learned a lot about building community, public events and in conflict resolution. One of the things that we noticed from the past years, is that we had 13 parade categories, each with a small trophy and half of the winners would never pick up their trophy. This year, we decided to reduce the categories to 3 (and a block award) and see if that made people more excited about them. Questions: - Would people care about them? - Would they be displayed by the winner (possibly a business)? - Would it cause more people to enter the parade? We will learn more about these as the parade happens, but for sure two things are true. 1) Kids love them. I had to put them up high, so our toddler doesn't break them. 2) They are great for social media content. I think next year we will take them around to our parade sponsors before the event and have a "Tour de Trophies" campaign where each business owner holds them up as if they just won them. - Live in WA? If you want to smile today, watch this little video.
As an agency, this is certainly one of our zanier moments. Mazzio's wanted to help the Tulsa SPCA promote an upcoming fundraiser comedy show, so we organized a pizza-themed photo shoot to create a content library for the occasion. Dogs and cats alike posed with Mazzio's props to show off their natural comedic flair. (All of these good boys and girls are up for adoption, by the way.)

Very proud of my daughter Sofia’s #ServiceProject benefiting the #Blackfeet #NativeAmerican #Tribe in #Montana . She needs just a little bit more to reach her goal! Please consider supporting her cause by donating and clicking on the link below. Many #BlackfeetTribe students do not have the ability to buy a #Halloween costume due to: 1) financial hardship; 2) closest retail stores are hundreds of miles away; and 3) tribe members do not have mailboxes, so the adult in the multifamily household has to go to the post office which is very far away. Providing #Halloween costumes to poor children in a rural community can serve many important purposes, including: 1) promoting inclusion and participation; 2) offering joy, fun and equal opportunities; 3) community building; 4) encouraging creativity and imagination; 5) reducing social and economic stigmas; 6) creating memories; and 7) strenghtening community bonds. On the #Blackfeet Reservation, unemployment is over 10% and of those who work, 70% of those are employed to work for the tribal or federal government. Opportunities are extremely limited. The literacy rate among the #Blackfeet students when compared to their peers in Montana is extremely low, well below the 40th percentile of children in the 5th grade read at grade level. Please consider donating today! #BrowningElementary #WestminsterChristianSchool #Service #NativeAmericans
