Today we continue with information about our presence at Light + Building: In addition to the focus on busbars, we will be presenting our portfolio of aluminium terminal blocks (RKA) in Frankfurt am Main, which has been extended by two smaller cross-sections: the single-pole variant RKA 16 with a connection cross-section of up to 16 mm² is available immediately, while the single-pole variant RKA 35 with a connection cross-section of up to 35 mm² will be available from Q2 2024. "With the introduction of the two new RKA variants, we are rounding off our product portfolio in this area. Up to now, entry was only possible from a connection cross-section of up to 50 mm²," explains Ewald Voß, Head of BU Components. "Now users will be able to use terminal blocks from HORA eTec from a connection cross-section of 16 mm²." The two new models also offer the proven product features such as the compact design, identification, any number of stacking options and worldwide approvals for connecting copper and aluminium conductors. The portfolio expansion offers significant benefits to users: "HORA eTec is the only manufacturer able to offer this terminal block portfolio from 16 mm² to 300 mm²," says Voß. In addition, the new, versatile solution saves space - and offers flexibility for different applications. This is because HORA eTec's terminal blocks are designed to be used in numerous areas and industries: installation, mechanical engineering, industrial systems, automation and even renewable energies such as photovoltaic systems. 𝗙𝗹𝗮𝘀𝗵 𝗕𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝟴𝟯.𝟮𝗩 𝟱𝟲𝟬 𝗔𝗵 - 𝟰𝟲.𝟱𝗸𝗪𝗵 is the customised lithium battery designed for a sideloader belonging to the 𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝗻𝗱𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘆. ‘The special feature of this battery is its 𝗺𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗹𝗮𝗿 𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲, which allows several units to be connected in parallel. This not only increases the overall capacity of the battery system, but also offers the possibility of 𝗲𝘅𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗱𝗶𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗴𝘆 𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲𝘀. US glassmakers in decarbonisation funding success Three US glass manufacturers have been selected to begin award negotiations from a US$6 billion government funding pot. The projects chosen are part of the Industrial Demonstrations Program which aims to reduce emissions from manufacturing processes. The selected glass projects are: Gallo Glass Company: Hybrid Electric Glass Furnace Project (Modesto, CA) - up to $75 million in federal cost share to install a demonstration hybrid electric furnace to reduce natural gas use by 70% and increase recycled content by 30% in its glass bottle production process. Libbey Glass: Flexible Fuel Electric Hybrid Glass Furnace Demonstration (Toledo, OH) - up to $45.1 million in federal cost share to replace four regenerative furnaces with two larger hybrid electric furnaces to reduce an estimated 60% of carbon dioxide emissions. O-I Glass: Glass Furnace Decarbonization Technology (Zanesville, OH; Toano, VA; Tracy, CA) - up to $125 million in federal cost share to rebuild four furnaces to reduce scope one carbon dioxide emissions by an average of 40% across three facilities. The glassmakers are among 33 industrial companies selected to begin award negotiations from the $6 billion funding opportunity for the Industrial Demonstrations Program (IDP), led by DOE’s Office of Clean Energy Demonstrations (OCED).
