https://lnkd.in/gHAyAP-Q Look at the excitement here on receiving a jar of pickles for Christmas! Young children see the world much differently than us and can truly appreciate the simple pleasures in life. And if adults were able to do that more, there is research to show that not only can this offset small annoyances we have throughout the day, but it can also help us make better progress toward our goals. And these are simple, low-cost activities such as taking a walk outside or having tea with a friend. Counterintuitively, when your to-do list is too long, and you eliminate these types of activities, you may make less progress toward your goals. Research: https://lnkd.in/gGmFpYVu

In this frenetic time of budgets and closes, Parent-Teacher conferences and after school activities, and general craziness of life, this post touched me. Too often I break my day into minutes - I just need 15 minutes to finish this email, to proofread this deck, to pack my kids' snacks for the day. Too often do I say 'I wish I had 25 hours in a day'. Too often I answer with a list of activities, packed one behind the other, when people ask 'how was your weekend'. It's good to get a reminder of the importance of zooming out from time to time. We all intuitively know this, yet so very little is done in parent education... We know how damaging childhood trauma can be and parents can learn this technique to prevent the trauma to build up and affect their child later in life. It takes very little effort and it can be much more valuable than any inheritance you can leave as a parent! #earlychildhood #hidlhoodtrauma #parenteducation #mentalhealth
The future is in our children a big shout out Lubosh Hanuska in educating parents to help the future be bright
