However, a new report from the Massachusetts Taxpayers Foundation cautions that challenges in recruiting and retaining workers could jeopardize efforts to increase access to #affordablechildcare. Find out more about how Massachusetts can retain recent progress and expand access to affordable, high-quality #ECE in the full report:

The consequences of being exposed to neighborhood poverty are sometimes greater than the consequences of being poor itself. If a child grows up in a poor neighborhood, moving up and out to a middle-class area is typical for white families but not Black families. The scarcity of resources and support services in communities significantly hinders efforts to stabilize resulting in removal and/or an inability to reunify families. "Neglect" in this context is a consequence of systemic barriers and stressors that overwhelm the capacity of parents to meet all their children's needs. Reducing poverty, increasing access to resources and supports and enhancing service accessibility are just some of the many ways we can improve child well-being and help families.
Families need: ✅Cash aid that provides meaningful benefit amounts. ✅An end to work reporting requirements. ✅Streamlined, easy-to-navigate processes to enroll and maintain public benefits. ✅Trusted caseworkers—and in the absence of such, community-based navigators—to help move through public assistance systems. ✅In-kind supports that match the cost of living. ✅Supports that are not dependent on what county or state you live in. The need for affordable childcare has become increasingly evident. It is inequitable for the cost of childcare to be comparable to housing expenses. Furthermore, while government support for childcare is substantial, the technological infrastructure of many childcare assistance programs remains outdated. For those in my network seeking to improve childcare administration, I would be delighted to discuss how Beam is working to alleviate this administrative burden. This, in turn, will empower governments and community-based organizations (CBOs) to maximize their impact.
Big day! The Administration has finalized their #childcare regulation. Many families will see lower child care prices and ECE providers will see system improvements - great news! States will start planning for implementation soon. Learn more --> https://lnkd.in/e--QDyAz

Yesterday, I asked Donald Trump what he would do to solve America's #childcare crisis. His response? Incomprehensible at best. At worst? Outrageously offensive to the millions of families drowning in childcare costs. ------ MY QUESTION: If you win in November, can you commit to prioritizing legislation to make child care affordable? And if so, what specific piece of legislation will you advance? HIS RESPONSE: Well, I would do that, and we're sitting down, and I was, somebody, we had Senator Marco Rubio, and my daughter Ivanka was so, uh, impactful on that issue. It's a very important issue. But I think when you talk about the kind of numbers that I'm talking about, that, because, look, child care is child care is. Couldn't, you know, there's something, you have to have it – in this country you have to have it. But when you talk about those numbers compared to the kind of numbers that I'm talking about by taxing foreign nations at levels that they're not used to — but they'll get used to it very quickly – and it's not gonna stop them from doing business with us, but they'll have a very substantial tax when they send product into our country. Uh, those numbers are so much bigger than any numbers that we're talking about, including child care, that it's going to take care. We're gonna have - I, I look forward to having no deficits within a fairly short period of time, coupled with, uh, the reductions that I told you about on waste and fraud and all of the other things that are going on in our country, because I have to stay with child care. I want to stay with child care, but those numbers are small relative to the kind of economic numbers that I'm talking about, including growth, but growth also headed up by what the plan is that I just, uh, that I just told you about. We're gonna be taking in trillions of dollars, and as much as child care, uh, is talked about as being expensive, it's, relatively speaking, not very expensive compared to the kind of numbers we'll be taking in. We're going to make this into an incredible country that can afford to take care of its people, and then we'll worry about the rest of the world. Let's help other people, but we're going to take care of our country first. This is about America first. It's about Make America Great Again, we have to do it because right now we're a failing nation, so we'll take care of it. Thank you. Very good question. Thank you.

3 on 10. 🪫 Here’s one of my uses for AI: I use it to help me abstract myself as I interpret information. I cringed at the word salad when the response aired on TV. I was aware of my biases. And, I wanted an assist for a more “neutral analysis” than mine. My goal was to help me focus on what was salient about the exchange. AI can do this without vitriol and political lobbying. Like any black box technology, the response is reflection of what the human entered and how the response is interpreted. Or as the adage goes, garbage in, garbage out. My question was clear and the AI gave a clear response. Here was the AI response: “On a scale of 1 to 10, I would rate his answer as a 3 in terms of directly answering Reshma Saujani’s question. While he acknowledges the importance of child care and briefly mentions his daughter's involvement in the issue, he does not commit to any specific legislation or provide a concrete plan for making child care affordable, which was the crux of Saujani's question. Instead, he shifts the conversation toward broader economic policies without offering a direct solution for child care affordability.” I feel like the AI did a great job in tolerating the meandering and getting to a number. Our kid’s deserve better than 3 on 10. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - 👋 I’m Delia, transformation leader and integral coach; you can see my bio for those details.
