I appreciate all the love this old blog of mine still receives. If you're interested in the three essential elements I learned from Operations Officer, Commander Jack Dempsey, only six months into my first Navy assignment at Andrews Air Force Base. We would meet every month for mentoring and career development sessions. He wisely shared observations on Black naval officers' perceptions that enabled me to proactively formulate mitigation strategies. He taught me insights that to this day still shape how I lead, mentor, and communicate with others. I can't thank him enough for everything he's done for me, my career, and my achievements.
