Happy Memorial Day! As we honor those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our country, let's take a moment to reflect on our core values - what is a core value that guides your actions? One of the core values that has profoundly shaped my personal and professional journey is service. This unwavering commitment to serving others is the reason I chose to become a physician, and more specifically, an emergency physician. I wanted to be there for anyone, in any situation, providing care and support when it was needed most. With The Doctor Investor my goal is to serve the physician community in a different but equally impactful way. By providing education, raising awareness, and offering access to the world of investing, I aim to empower physicians with the knowledge and tools they need to secure their financial futures. Core values provide clarity and direction. What is a core value for you or your organization?

I’ve voiced on here before there’s a difference between long term care buildings and short stay buildings and the easiest way I can tell who is serious about being a short stay facility leader and valued hospital partner- They have case management and they have social services. And they aren’t interchangeable. If you want to be a leader in short term rehab stays and hospital partnerships- Invest in your case management.

Have you ever wondered why it's so hard for nonprofit organizations to work together, share resources, and form partnerships? A recent survey asked this very question, and the responses were quite insightful. Some of the reasons given were differing missions and goals, limited resources, communication challenges, lack of trust, and power imbalances. It's a bit ironic, isn't it? In an industry dedicated to helping others, organizations often find themselves guarding their own little slice of the pie. But here's the good news – it doesn't always have to be that way! There are many wonderful organizations out there that are willing to lend a hand, share their knowledge, and offer assistance. And for that, we are truly grateful. Speaking of which, there's one local organization that deserves a special shout-out: Thrive Alabama. Led by the amazing Mary Elizabeth Marr, this organization has been an absolute gem. While their mission aligns with ours to some extent, they have gone above and beyond to support us with their kindness and expertise. So, if you're a Huntsville resident in need of medical care and don't know where to turn, Thrive Alabama is the place to start your search. Here's a glimpse into their mission and values: https://lnkd.in/gxbEqVev Let's spread the word about Thrive Alabama and organizations like them that truly embody the spirit of collaboration and compassion. Have you ever thought about what will happen to your family when you’re not around? I know it’s not the easiest thing to think about, but planning for what comes after we’re gone is honestly one of the most meaningful things we can do for the people we care about. By talking now about things like end-of-life wishes and making sure everything is in place, we’re not just making sure our own choices are respected—we’re taking a huge weight off our family’s shoulders when that time comes. It’s tough, but not having a plan in place leaves so many unknowns that can be even tougher for those we leave behind. This article really hits home on why having these conversations and plans in place is so important. It’s never too early to start thinking about it. https://lnkd.in/g433rjEh #AdvanceCarePlanning #FamilyFirst #EndOfLifeCare #PlanAhead #LegacyPlanning
