Several key trends have emerged that are reshaping the way hotels, restaurants, and other hospitality businesses operate: 1. Increased demand for contactless experiences: In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, consumers have shown a strong preference for contactless experiences, including mobile check-in/check-out, digital key access, and mobile payment options. This has led to increased demand for accommodations, dining, and experiences in rural and suburban areas, as well as a growing interest in outdoor and nature-based activities. 4. Preference for personalized experiences: Consumers are increasingly seeking personalized and unique experiences when they travel or dine out. Hospitality businesses are responding by offering tailored services, curated recommendations, and unique, locally-inspired offerings to attract and retain guests. 5. I share with you my insights on how Will Guidara “Unreasonable Hospitality” can be used in the hotel industry. Integrating the principles from "Unreasonable Hospitality" into the hotel business can be transformative. By embracing the philosophy of going above and beyond mere customer satisfaction to create extraordinary guest experiences, hotels can differentiate themselves in a crowded market. Drawing from the book's insights on empathy, innovation, and service excellence, hotels can redefine the boundaries of hospitality, turning guests into loyal advocates. From personalized touches to unexpected gestures of generosity, implementing the ethos of "Unreasonable Hospitality" inspires a culture of genuine care and connection, fostering deep emotional bonds with guests that transcend transactional relationships. Ultimately, by embracing this mindset, hotels can elevate their brand reputation, drive customer loyalty, and thrive in an increasingly competitive industry landscape. Here are a few examples of how hotels can implement the principles of "Unreasonable Hospitality": 1. Personalized Welcome: Upon arrival, greet guests by name and offer a personalized welcome message, perhaps accompanied by a small gift or handwritten note tailored to their preferences or special occasions. 2. Thoughtful Amenities: Anticipate guests' needs and provide thoughtful amenities that go beyond the basics. For example, offer a selection of pillows to choose from based on guests' preferences, provide complimentary snacks or beverages in the room, or offer a curated selection of local products or experiences. 3. Surprise and Delight: Create moments of surprise and delight throughout the guest's stay. This could include unexpected upgrades, complimentary services or activities, or special treats delivered to the room. 4. Genuine Engagement: Encourage staff to engage with guests on a personal level, taking the time to listen to their needs, preferences, and stories. Authentic interactions create a sense of connection and make guests feel valued and appreciated. 5. Experiential Offerings: Provide unique and memorable experiences that go beyond traditional hotel amenities. This could include guided tours led by local experts, cooking classes showcasing regional cuisine, or wellness activities such as yoga or meditation sessions. 6. Responsiveness and Flexibility: Be proactive in addressing guest needs and concerns, and demonstrate flexibility in accommodating special requests or unexpected situations. Empower staff to make on-the-spot decisions to resolve issues and exceed guest expectations. Did I miss anything? Let me know! I hope I was able to share good insights.

How to boost hotels revenue without increasing room rates? Here is my 5 point programme. 1.Loyalty program to recognizes and rewards frequent patrons. By offering personalized perks such as discounts, freebies, or priority services to regular guests, you not only incentivize repeat visits but also foster a sense of belonging and appreciation. For instance, a coffee shop could offer a loyalty program where customers earn points for every purchase, leading to free drinks or pastries after reaching a certain threshold. This not only encourages customers to return but also promotes higher spend per visit as they strive to unlock more rewards. According to a recent study, businesses with loyalty programs experience a 20% increase in customer retention, highlighting the effectiveness of such initiatives in building long-term relationships with clients. Moreover, by collecting data on customer preferences and behavior through the loyalty program, businesses can tailor their offerings, ultimately leading to higher customer satisfaction and loyalty. 2. Curate and offer a range of exclusive and tailored experiences, including guided tours, cooking classes, and wellness retreats, designed to provide your guests with a one-of-a-kind and unforgettable journey. 3. Partnering with local businesses to provide guests with exclusive discounts and offers on a variety of experiences, including dining, shopping, and entertainment, is a fantastic way to enhance their overall stay. By collaborating with nearby establishments, we can create a unique and memorable experience for our guests, showcasing the best that the local community has to offer. For example, guests could enjoy special deals on delicious meals at popular restaurants in the area, allowing them to indulge in the local cuisine without breaking the bank. Additionally, they could take advantage of discounts at nearby shops, giving them the opportunity to purchase souvenirs or gifts to remember their trip by. Statistics show that guests are more likely to return to a hotel since they feel valued and appreciated. This also strengthens the relationship between the hotel and the local businesses. 4. Incorporating advanced technology into the hotel, such as offering mobile check-in options, key-less entry, mobile as key-card or providing in-room tablets for convenient service requests, can greatly enhance the overall guest experience. By embracing these technological upgrades, hotels can streamline processes, cut costs, improve efficiency, and ultimately create a more seamless and enjoyable stay for their guests. 5. Another effective strategy to boost sales is by organizing events or conferences to engage with a new audience and to showcase their offerings and attract potential customers. This approach not only helps in increasing bookings but also enhances brand visibility If you feel I have added value to you with this post, please follow 👍 Sameer S and repost ♻️

Habits, Hotels, and Unreasonable Hospitality 🏨 Recently, I've been on a personal journey to refine my daily habits—incorporating consistent exercise, mindfulness, and time spent outdoors. This process of continuous improvement got me thinking about parallels in the hospitality industry, particularly in how hotels manage and optimize their operations. In 'Unreasonable Hospitality' by Will Guidara, the emphasis on the power of systems and the importance of a dedicated 30 minute meeting to enhancing culture. Reflecting on my own experience, the success of my business hinged on the relentless fine-tuning of our systems. It's a practice that's not only beneficial but necessary for growth and excellence. However, it's apparent that many hotels might be missing out on this opportunity for refinement. In the hustle of a thriving market, it's easy for hotels to fall into a pattern of complacency, relying on the 'if it isn't broken, don't fix it' mentality. But just as personal habits require regular evaluation and adjustment, hotel operations can significantly benefit from a similar approach. Bad habits, whether personal or operational, share a common trait: they're often invisible until we take a step back to evaluate them critically. For hotels, this could mean outdated check-in processes that frustrate guests, inefficient housekeeping routines that waste resources, or a lack of personalized guest experiences due to outdated CRM systems. The good news is that, just like personal habits, operational habits can be changed. It starts with recognizing the need for improvement and committing to regular, even if small, adjustments. Implementing a culture of continuous improvement within hotel operations can lead to significant enhancements in efficiency, guest satisfaction, and ultimately, profitability. Let's take inspiration from the practice of refining personal habits and apply it to our hotel operations. By dedicating time to review and improve our systems, we can transform not just the culture within our hotels but also the experiences we offer our guests. It's time to break the cycle of complacency and embrace the journey of continuous improvement.
