NEW DATA: With our partner CIESIN, we’ve published v3.0 data updates for #DRC settlement names, health facilities, and health areas and zones. With two new provinces included, Mongala and Tshopo, updated data is now available for 13 provinces. By leveraging these data, GRID3 can help health campaigns be more precise, equitable, and effective in reaching all populations and achieving their goals. This is a part of our major effort to map all of the DRC–one province at a time. Access the data here: https://bit.ly/40nQ0GG

🇬🇪#Georgia’s population faces a high burden of noncommunicable diseases. #PHC plays a critical role in the prevention, early detection and management of #NCDs. A new model of PHC should aim to address current rural and urban inequities in PHC by transforming PHC practices to provide more responsive and person- and people-centred services tailored to local needs. Read about how the new PHC model can improve the equity in service delivery 👉 https://lnkd.in/d49bf6AJ

I recently created a series of maps to visualize COVID-19 coverage in North East Nigeria over a 4-year period. While the data used is hypothetical, the exercise revealed fascinating patterns and changes in coverage, highlighting areas of progress and those that require targeted interventions. #QGIS #geospatialanalysis #publichealth #covid19 #healthcare #mapping #healthcoverage"

According to Yakob Wondarad with Ethiopia's Ministry of Health, DHIS2 means "opportunities." "DHIS2 brings us a lot of opportunities," he said. The system helped to shorten a very lengthy turnaround time for laboratory results and patient notifications during the Covid pandemic, "so we can save lives." As #Day2 of #AfricaEvidenceWeek2024 celebrations comes to an end, sit back and enjoy listening to Sherry Ahirirwe, a research scientist at The Center for Rapid Evidence Synthesis (ACRES), talking about the development of a national health research agenda in Uganda that has traditionally relied on expert opinion and disease burden: https://lnkd.in/dkYez3ph. However, this approach has limitations. To address this, ACRES is leading an effort to create an evidence gap map of all health research conducted in Uganda between 2010 and 2022. This map will inform the revision of the 2010 Health Research Agenda in collaboration with the Uganda National Health Research Organisation and the Ministry of Health. This map will guide the next phase of priority setting, involving stakeholder engagement through an online survey, Delphi exercises, and a physical meeting. ACRES aims to periodically update the evidence gap map, making it publicly available to guide research and access to evidence. Join us as we wrap up #AfEW2024 to show the world #Africalovesevidence!
