Congratulations to the recent #TeamBayer recipients of the SASE - Society of Asian Scientists and Engineers Outstanding Career Achievement award. Each of the award winners - Yanfei Wang, Kun He, Aqeel Ahmad, Yurong Chen, and Grace Liu (left to right in the picture below) - exemplifies mentorship and scientific excellence, and have contributed more to their careers at Bayer than is possible to list here. Collaboration is so important to scientific excellence. Part of what stands out about each of these awardees is their commitment not only to being the go-to expert in their fields, but additionally their participation in internal employee groups, scientific societies, and community outreach. It takes passion to ignite the spark of innovation, and these five awardees have used their passion to help ignite the spark in many others over the course of their careers. Summer Reflections & Prepping to win Q3/Q4 at Scandinavian Biolabs ⚡ Just came fully back from off-summer, and feeling grateful for being able to take time to reinforce and reflect on how I perform at my best. My top three reinforcements this year, nothing groundbreaking: 1. Don’t fill your off-time with more stress. Embrace true relaxation. 🧘♂️✨ 2. Fall in love with your daily life. Appreciate your home base. ❤️🏡 3. Focus on what matters. Excellence over everything, cut the crap. ⚡🏆 Anything to add to the below? 🤔 🧘♂️✨Taking time off in a scaling company sometime feels daunting. However, it’s non-negotiable. You don’t even know you’re overwhelmed, anxious or lack energy until you force your nervous system to calm down. This summer, I let my nervous system chill, and gave my brain a break. This does not take a week - you need to let it sit for some time, and not just fill up with other activities. 🏡❤️ I stayed in Copenhagen almost all summer. And you know what? It was AMAZING. For me, this city is incredible, and the downtime here was pure gold. Copenhagen, you’re a darling. ⚡🏆 At Scandinavian Biolabs, we’ve got a million projects running at any given time. Summer might slow things down, but what’s getting done? It’s happening at breakneck speed and top-tier quality. Reinforcement of the rule: Do fewer things, but do them bigger, better, and faster. Cut the crap, focus on excellence.

Last night, my family and I cheered on the Celtics at TD Garden in Boston. It was a thrilling game, and as always, my kids were filled with one special hope: to be featured on the jumbotron. We’ve attended several games, and each time, we’ve cheered with the crowd, yet we’ve never quite made it onto that screen. As fans around us were shown, my kids began to lose hope. Then, as the final moments of the game ticked down, we all stood up, danced, and waved with everything we had - and there we were, up on the big screen!! (swipe to see the priceless moment 😄). Our determination paid off eventually. It was a reminder of something I believe deeply: hope, resilience, and the courage to stand up and take action are keys to success, not just in the stands but in the work we do every day. In my work at #Takeda, these principles resonate deeply: - Resilience in the face of setbacks: every day, we face complex challenges—timelines, data challenges, and recruitment issues can make progress feel slow. But like my kids who kept cheering despite the odds, we keep moving forward, knowing that every study and every piece of evidence we generate brings us closer to improving patients’ lives - Seeing value in every step: just as I encouraged my kids to enjoy the experience beyond the jumbotron, in medical affairs we understand that every phase of our studies has meaning. Each dataset, each insight add to the knowledge that ultimately supports patients and advances medical care. It’s about finding purpose in every part of the journey, not just the final result - Taking bold action: sometimes, creating meaningful change means standing up and making ourselves heard. Whether it's exploring innovative study designs, finding new ways to meet evidence needs, or supporting our colleagues, bold actions are often what brings us closer to delivering better health solutions - Hope as a leadership quality: just as we held onto hope until the last moment, leaders who embody hope inspire perseverance, energy, and purpose to our work This jumbotron moment reminded me that small acts of resilience and hope create lasting impact. As we keep pushing forward together, I am grateful for a mission that connects us to something larger than ourselves. How’s Jim? You Ask... Well, Jim Dukarm is alive, healthy, and thriving — in both science and dance! We are often asked the question: “How’s Jim?” (our esteemed and formidable founder) as he does not travel as frequently as he has in the past. And while we'd love to give a detailed scientific analysis, we figured a more fun answer would do the trick. So here’s Jim, captured in his most festive form, cutting a rug at our recent Christmas party. You can check out the video to see his moves for yourself, he’s got the rhythm and the science down! But let's not forget why Jim (and all of us at Delta-X Research) are so excited to be part of this amazing team. We’re a passionate company rooted in science, constantly pushing the boundaries. TOWARDS THE NEW GENERATION OF 4HELIX LIVING LABS! 🌟 Today marks an important milestone for the INTEGER project as we convene for the General Assembly, reflecting on our progress and charting the course ahead. 🌟 In just one year, the INTEGER 4helix inter-regional community has  made significant strides towards fostering more adaptable, resilient, innovative and inclusive regional innovation ecosystems, leaving its imprint on the new generation of living labs.
