At HoverSurv Technologies, one of our projects involved developing a 3D CAD drawing of a duct for dimensional analysis of its external shell. This task presented significant challenges, particularly in achieving comprehensive coverage of the asset from the ground, 40 meters up in the air. How did we tackle this challenge? We utilized targets to stitch together multiple scans from different locations, ensuring complete coverage of the duct. For this task, we deployed the Leica Geosystems part of Hexagon's P50 3D terrestrial laser scanner, renowned for its exceptional accuracy at long ranges. The P50 maintains a 3mm 3D accuracy over 50 meters, crucial for scanning the duct from the ground. The result? High-fidelity, precise #3D #CAD models that served the client perfectly!
