9.29: Commitment This week, I accomplished a personal goal by meal prepping nine meals, covering the entire week. Typically, I prepare six or seven meals, often leaving some unfinished due to unexpected events. This time, however, I completed them all. It took around two hours, but the time invested in meal prepping once a week far outweighs the daily effort after work. Day 3 – How to Prepare for the Work Week #LinkedInSportsChallenge My weekly prep happens on Sundays, and setting myself up early makes a huge difference. Meal Prep: I start by preparing my meals. Packing lunch is key, so I make sure I have protein, carbs, and vegetables ready to go. Though I cook a few more times during the week, having prepped lunches gives me a solid foundation. Meal planning is something I think many professionals overlook—having an idea of what you want to eat at the start of the week can help reduce "analysis paralysis" and avoid poor food choices. Breakfast: Breakfast is another priority for me. I keep it simple and quick, so it’s easy to grab on the go. If you find foods that work for you in the morning, you’ll keep your energy up until lunch. Evening Routine: Sunday evening, I wind down by planning my outfit for work and packing my gym bag for the morning. My dad instilled this habit in me when I was young, and it’s saved me a lot of time and stress in the mornings. Cleaning and Laundry: I tackle cleaning and laundry as my “filler episodes” for the week. I try to keep my space tidy, but if things get out of control, I take on tasks that take less than five minutes right away. Another habit my dad taught me early on! How you prepare affects how you feel throughout the week. Today is National Sandwich Day! 🥪 It’s funny - there’s a day for absolutely everything now! But today actually serves as the perfect excuse to ask my favourite 'small talk' question - what’s on the lunch menu? 🥙 On a more serious note, it's also a good time to bring up something important; the disappearing lunch break! I came across a survey recently that found: - Nearly half of us skip lunch at least once a week - 62% struggle to use their blocked-off lunch break to have a meal - Gen Z are the most likely to skip their lunch Even with more flexibility from homeworking, many of us are working through breaks or missing lunch. We might feel like we’re gaining time, but research shows it’s counterproductive. Taking even a short break to refuel can boost focus, productivity, and creativity for the rest of the day. So here’s a gentle reminder - 📅 Block off lunch on your calendar and try to treat it like any other meeting ⏰ Set a timer to step away from your desk, even if it’s just for 15 minutes 🍱 Plan & prep your lunch the night before to make it easier to enjoy a quick, nutritious break And of course I have to ask, what's for lunch today? 😀 #NationalSandwichDay #Producitivity

Time management tip: Do not skip breakfast. That should be almost your largest calorie meal of the day. It gives you the energy you need to work and can sustain you to eat a later lunch especially if you eat a larger snack at the normal lunch time, 11-noon.

We've all been there - hunched over our desks, stomachs rumbling but pushing through to hit a deadline. 💻 Or anxiously inhaling a sad desk salad because we "should" eat the healthy option 😕 In the blurry lines between work and life, it's easy to disconnect from our body's needs or fall into restrictive eating patterns. But wouldn't you rather feel energized and nourished throughout the workday? 👉This week, I encourage you to bring a spirit of self-compassion to your workplace eating. Instead of neglect, criticism, or strict rules, eat in a way that feels good. ✨Pack lunches and snacks you genuinely enjoy, not just options you think you "should" have. Stop and actually taste each bite rather than shoveling food while switching between screens. Set a timer to check in with your body and mind to see if you need a break. And if the workday goes sideways with no time for a real break? Allow yourself grace 💜 Choose something convenient yet satisfying when you can, and move on without guilt.
