Cervical cancer remains a significant health concern in Nepal, with more that 2500 new cases and approx. 2000 deaths reported annually. Shockingly, only 3% of women aged 15-49 have undergone screening, despite available preventive measures. Human papillomavirus (HPV), specifically types 16 and 18, affects round about 7% of women at any given time. Raising awareness, expanding HPV vaccination, and improving screening programs are crucial to lessening the impact of cervical cancer in Nepal. Enhancing public health initiatives by providing accessible screening and vaccination is vital to safeguarding women's health in Nepal. #CervicalCancerAwareness #WomensHealth #PreventionIsKey #HealthForAll #NepalHealth

Meet Brandon Jaka, born with HIV and initiated on treatment at eight. Over time, drug-resistant HIV compromised his condition, forcing him onto second-line treatments, which often have stronger side effects. Despite these challenges, Brandon has become an AMR awareness champion, advocating for responsible antimicrobial use to protect lives. What Can You Do? ✔️ Only use antibiotics prescribed by a licensed health professional. ✔️ Never use leftover or shared antibiotics. ✔️ Prevent infections through hand hygiene, avoiding contact with sick individuals, and staying updated on vaccinations. Together, We Can Fight AMR. AMR claims 1.3 million lives every year, but awareness and responsible actions can save countless others.
