How to find out if your client is fun to work with: Mention studio effects in your Zoom meeting! At the beginning of our call, I told Courtney Mesmer, CMP, DES, CED, Megan Henry Bronner and Vanessa Torrado, MA, CCP, GRP that I needed to make sure I had turned off the fake Zoom lipstick, which I sometimes put on in informal meetings for fun. I'm not sure if any of them had ever heard of this Zoom feature, but next thing I knew, everyone was putting on faces and we were all cracking up. I always say that, as professionals, it's important to take our work, messaging and topics seriously, but we don't have to take OURSELVES seriously. I had already gotten a great vibe from prepping with the WorldatWork team for #TotalRewards24. But this meeting just confirmed how much I was going to enjoy speaking at their event! Experiencing this team's playful energy and knowing that they value fun and authentic connection made me even more excited for their conference. Go put on that blue lipstick.
