A listening strategy in an organization can be implemented from the very beginning with recruitment. As succinctly depicted by Leading HR by AIHR in the diagram below, there are different channels in which it can be implemented ranging from start (recruitment) to finish (offboarding). - Recruitment: Candidate survey helps gather feedback of both employees you recruit and those who pass through the recruitment process. -Onboarding: This survey is targeted at gathering feedback on how the entire onboarding process impacted the new hire. -Retention: Channels are continuous in nature. One-on-one check-ins, continuous feedback are some ways to always listen to employees. -Development: This works hand in hand with retention. Strategies like one on one meetings will create the avenue to garner feedback on areas of improvement of employees. -Offboarding: While employees would be leaving the organization, it is very important to hear from them regarding their holistic experience in an organization. The purpose of a listening strategy is to gather real time feedback from employees throughout their life cycle in an organization. Just as onboarding is a crucial process for welcoming new employees, offboarding is equally important for departing employees. Offboarding is the process of transitioning an employee out of the organization, and it's essential to do it right. Why does an Exit Interview Matter? ▪︎Exit interviews help employers identify the reasons behind an employee's decision to leave. ▪︎Departing employees often provide candid feedback about the challenges they faced during their employment. This feedback can help employers identify areas for improvement and make necessary changes. ▪︎Departing employees may share their perceptions of the company culture and suggest ways to improve it. ▪︎Employers can improve employee engagement and retention by acting on the feedback gathered during exit interviews. Best Practices for Conducting Exit Interviews: ▪︎Conduct the interview in person or via video call depending on the work mode. ▪︎Use open-ended questions this encourages the departing employees to share their thoughts and feelings. ▪︎Maintain confidentiality ▪︎Take notes during the interview and follow up with departing employees to thank them for their feedback. #ExitInterviews #Offboarding #EmployeeExperience #EmployeeRetention #Onboarding #OffboardingProcess #EmployeeFeedback

In the dynamic world of HR, the off-boarding process often doesn't get the attention it deserves. However, how we manage an employee's exit can significantly impact their lasting impression of the company. Here are four key elements to ensure a smooth and respectful off-boarding experience: ♠ Clear Communication 📣 Transparent and compassionate communication throughout the off-boarding process is crucial. Keeping departing employees informed about what to expect can alleviate anxiety and demonstrate respect for their contributions. ♠ Exit Interviews 💬 Conducting meaningful exit interviews provides invaluable insights into the employee's experience. This feedback is instrumental in identifying areas for improvement and enhancing the workplace for current and future employees. ♠ Recognition 🌟 Publicly acknowledging the departing employee's contributions reinforces their sense of worth and leaves a lasting positive impression. A heartfelt farewell can make all the difference in how they remember their time with the company. ♠ Transition Support 🤝 Offering support for the transition, such as references, career counseling, and networking opportunities, shows that you care about their future success. This support can foster goodwill and maintain a positive relationship even after they have left the company.

Here's a thought: Why not trim those 6 interviews over 5 weeks down to a crisp 2-3 sessions in just one week? An extra four weeks for robust onboarding and training. Efficient hiring, effective onboarding—that’s the smarter way to work! Ready to make the switch?
