Dear Investor, As mentioned earlier Payback Period is one of the parameters that we can use to analyze or measure the feasibility of an investment before the investment is executed or realized. Thus, it means that there are other parameters that we can use to measure or analyze an investment whether the investment feasible to be executed or realized. Another parameter that we can use to analyze or measure the feasibility of an investment is Net Present Value or often called NPV. Both Payback Period or NPV use the same approach, it is using Net Cash Flow. But however, the difference is Payback Period analysis uses direct Net Cash Flow, meanwhile, the NPV analysis uses Net Cash Flow after being discounted or often referred to as Discounted Cash Flow. If the PV proceed value is greater than the PV investment, it means that the NPV is positive and the investment is worth to be continued. Cost Efficiency,,, One of the investors goal in investing their fund is to maximize their wealth by ensuring their investment is returned on time or in accordance with the business plan that has been developed previously or in accordance to the feasibility study that have been carried out, before the investor decide to start a particular business. However, in reality, most of the articles I found, both on Facebook or on LinkedIn, always talked about achieving revenue, marketing strategies, advertising strategies etc, none of them thought about cost efficiency strategies or Tactical Cost and Expenses Management. Indeed, sales is a component that can produce a bottom line. Maximum sales without being supported by a cost efficiency plan will not be able to maximize returns. So far, I have seen that only accounting department is intensely thinking about cost efficiency, even though there may be some departments did. In addiiton, will be more effective if department concern think about cost efficiency because they understand better what they need, so the business decisions must be based on the needs, not just nice to have. So other department does not aware the other department needs. Sources of Asset Funding,,, To run their operational company needs the fund for any kind of their needs especially the fund that has relevance in order company able to run their operational as it is. The source of company funding can be from outside as long-term debt or within the company which is usually as share stock. Funding from inside the company may not take much risk like funding from debt, but funding from inside may be limited, so therefore funding from debt will be the alternative. However, the combination of the use of debt versus funds from share capital must go through a very precise analysis because the company must analyze how much of its assets are financed with debt, so that the debt to assets ratio will be at a reasonable level.
