Online therapy works 🤓 Cognitive behavioural therapy or #CBT is a form of psychotherapy that helps us recognize and modify detrimental thought patterns and behaviours. It has been proven to be effective for a variety of #mentalhealth concerns, like depression and anxiety but also chronic pain. A recent study published in the Canadian Medical Association Journal found little to no difference in the effectivenes of in-person and therapist-guided remote CBT across a range of mental health and somatic disorders. This finding was unaffected by type of clinical condition, length of follow-up, or whether CBT was provided individually or through group sessions. This is good news as therapist-guided, remotely delivered CBT can be used to facilitate greater access to mental health care, as well as remove both financial and physical constraints for users. Following the COVID-19 pandemic, #virtualhealthcare, spanning from walk-in appointments to therapy sessions, has surged in popularity because of its convenience and accessibility, particularly benefiting individuals residing in remote communities. Connect with our team today to learn more about our mental health programs that include virtual therapy and iCBT programs, so your employees can gain access to ongoing mental health support in a timely and accessible manner.

To the Leaders in Suicide Prevention: When Silence Speaks Louder Than Words Last November, amidst a personal crisis, I sought help from the institutions I trusted. Despite openly sharing my darkest thoughts at a VA facility, I was left without a safety plan or follow-up. My concerns were ignored, my voice unheard—echoing down empty halls. Leaders or Shadows in Suicide Prevention? While working alongside leaders in suicide prevention, I felt abandoned. Leadership isn't about titles—it's about action, and all I needed was someone to ask the hard questions they often forget. A Light in the Dark: Bowie, My Lifesaver When I was about to give up, my dog Bowie broke through barriers to save me. His actions showed more leadership in suicide prevention than I had ever seen. A Mission Born from Despair At a recent reunion, memories of lost friends from the Battle for Husaybah reignited my commitment to support veterans. Inspired, I'm driving changes at The Wellness Effect with AI-driven avatars that echo your voice and mirror your emotions, crafting personalized safety plans. We're revolutionizing mental health support, ensuring providers can focus more on patient care through AI tools that reduce administrative burdens. This is not just innovation; it's essential for effective care. Join Us: Empowering Change Through Technology Our mission goes beyond technology; it's about transforming actions in suicide prevention. Join us in ensuring every call for help receives the response it deserves.
