ChatGPT introduces new 800 number. I asked it what impact it would have in the Contact Center industry and it explained: "This service could really revolutionize the call center industry, by offering faster response times, 24/7 availability, and consistent friendly interactions. It's like having a helpful assistant available all the time. Imagine that!" And of course it can switch languages on demand. Try it at 1-800-242-8478. (Looks like they'll need some international DIDs ;)

People are already frustrated with the inanity of trying to get tech support, medical help line support, insurance support or any kind of real support via help lines due to chatbots. How is this going to help any of that? It won't. It will be the same nonsense but in a slightly different voice. Then there's the whole question of if one is calling into, and interacting with, ChatGPT, how do you know that your voice, or more accurately, voice print, isn't being stolen and used, or sold, to other businesses or worse government security agencies? Nope. No thanks.

It's exciting to see how ChatGPT could change contact centers by making help available anytime! How do you think businesses will adapt to this new technology?
