Celebrating Lucy Maud Montgomery's 150th at The Burlington Literary Festival Burlington Public Library Central Branch, 3rd Floor Sunday, November 03 2-3pm Most famed for her beloved children's stories, Lucy Maud Montgomery also wrote poetry, short stories, and two novels for adults. One of these novels, The Blue Castle, was inspired by her love for Ontario's Muskoka region. Born and raised in Prince Edward Island, Montgomery spent much of her adult life in Ontario, wrote half of her novels while living in Leaskdale, and made her final home in Swansea. In celebration of the 150th anniversary of Lucy Maud Montgomery's birth on November 30, author Catherine Little explores Montgomery's life, particularly her time and works created in Ontario: The Blue Castle, an endearing adult novel about second chances, and Anne of the Library-on-the-Hill, a beautiful picture book for all ages inspired by her visit to Toronto in 1921. "Parents are always prone to raise their children in a way that prepares them for life in the world as it used to be, not for life in the world as it now is. This book is especially important in that it equips parents to help their children through the temptations and challenges they are certain to face in this day and in this world. Parents and their children are sure to benefit from it." ~ Tim Challies, Author of Seasons of Sorrow Learn more about Grounded in Grace by Jonathan Holmes at https://buff.ly/48tZWAo.
