It's not about saying we have 'an open door'. It's about walking through it ourselves. In the latest episode of the We are Human Leaders podcast, join Alexis Zahner and Sally Clarke for a deeply moving conversation with Justin Jones-Fosu. Justin is an international speaker, a social entrepreneur, mountain climber and author of the book “I Respectfully Disagree: How to Have Difficult Conversations in a Divided World.” And this conversation will blow your mind as well as your heart. Justin not only helps us understand how to Respectfully Disagree, but shares how to recognise that despite the surface-level differences our common humanity is something much much more important and profound. And something we each have a responsibility for acknowledging. As Justin expresses, “What if we built into our calendar 15 to 20 minutes to have stories? Hear stories of others, ask, what brought you to our community? What brought you to our organization? What brought you to our country? That's a one hour lunchtime where you're able to engage in such rich conversations and hear the perspectives of others.” Listen now wherever you get your podcasts or right here https://lnkd.in/gTiYiAWu #leadership #respect #humanleaders #wearehumanleaders #respectfullydisagree #communication #mindfulcommunication

So I have been thinking through the content of my upcoming podcast (Bizcasters!). Series 1 I focus on the different ways that you can leverage a podcast in your business. In the next series, I want to talk about confidence. Inspired by the work of Vinh Giang and my recent podcast interview with Brooke B. Sellas. I want to have a series of conversations with people who can help us learn how to be more confident. More confident when speaking, interviewing, appearing on camera (both in personal appearance and background, video and photographs) and mindset. Specifically, I want to focus on podcasting (of course) but I'm open to conversations that will make us stronger business leaders and networkers too! So often we talk ourselves out of going for the big things because we lack confidence to do it. I want to try to help push past all of that! I have a few people in mind that I want to ask....but who should I be talking to?? (Crowns make everyone feel more confident don't they???)

At this moment in time there are many events going on around the world that are affecting people's energy negatively. This leads to people wanting to vent and looking for answers. This in turn can bring out spokespeople who are very vocal about the events, which can then ignite a severe anger in the population (and in some cases quite rightly so), and in some cases, protesting on the streets and sometimes leading to violence. #podcast #apple #streema #karenrobertscoaching #acoffeewithkaren #expandingyourmind #business #humanpotential #podcastprofitsunleashed

🤔 Leadership Lessons from an Unexpected Source: The Story of Keiko, the whale from "Free Willy" Sometimes the hardest decisions are the ones where there is no clear "right" answer. I've been reflecting on this after listening to "The Good Whale" podcast, which tells the fascinating story of Keiko, the orca who starred in "Free Willy." After the film's success, experts faced an unprecedented challenge: what to do with a captive whale who had become a global symbol of freedom. Despite the best intentions and millions of dollars in resources, the path forward wasn't clear. Should they prioritize idealistic goals or practical realities? This reminds me of complex decisions we face in business and leadership: - When do good intentions need to be balanced with practical constraints? - How do we make decisions when every option has significant drawbacks? - What happens when expertise and public sentiment clash? The story is a powerful reminder that sometimes leadership means making difficult choices in uncharted territory, where there's no playbook to follow. 🎧 I highly recommend checking out "The Good Whale" podcast. Beyond the compelling narrative, it offers profound insights into decision-making under pressure and the complexity of seemingly straightforward ethical choices. What's the hardest decision you've had to make when there was no clear "right" answer? Listen at: https://lnkd.in/ea3WeKHr #Leadership #Ethics #DecisionMaking #BusinessStrategy #PodcastRecommendation

“What they found is that when you’re lacking social connections, the amygdala, which is where that fight and flight reflex resides, part of the instinctive mind shrinks and the surface becomes different.” On this episode of the Inspiring Great Leaders Podcast, Craig Johns speaks with Michael McQueen about Mindstuck, how to influence change as a leader and the importance of social human connections. Tune in to episode 227 https://buff.ly/48SwfHR “The first thing is you’ve got to win affinity. You’ve got to be seen as trustworthy. Someone who’s got their best interests in mind. This is what Aristotle talked about as ethos, this notion of being credible and trustworthy in the eyes of other people you’re trying to engage with.” We also dive deeper into why some people resist change, understanding other people’s perspectives, and finding ways to bring people closer to the middle for productive discussions. “I’m reading 5 to 7 tech and trend journals or newsletters or online resources every day. So I’m pumping out content every day about what’s new, what’s happening. That then feeds into my presentation. So I’ve got this natural cadence of always the new.” Download on your favourite podcast app or click here to listen 👇 https://buff.ly/48SwfHR #leadership #podcast #mindstuck #keynotespeaker #inspiringgreatleaders

Today is a special day. Not only is it my birthday and I get to hang out with my littlest Wada all day but it also represents two weeks to go until the second series of my podcast begins. 🙌🏻🙌🏻 HUMANwise was created, because after 25 years working in professional services, I saw the cross-over between selling skills and coaching skills - yet the two rarely meet in this way. My ambition is to change this - and prove that we can be commercially successful and human-centric, with a common thread of a coaching approach to conversations. If you haven’t tuned in before - have a listen, or go to my website where you’ll find the summary blogs. We had some brilliant guests in series one. I can’t wait to get this second series underway and even more exciting news to follow, as the book starts to take shape. 📚📚eek! What did you like? What would you like to hear more of? Let me know as I build out the schedule. https://lnkd.in/gaCT6CXE #staytuned #podcast #humanwise #coaching #sales #leadership #businessdevelopment
