Look at this example of an Industrial Teleoperator - essentially a human controlled robot offering greater strength and safety for workers
Digital Twin, AI, XR & IoT advisor to Industry & Government. LinkedIn Top Voice for Emerging Technologies
Could this be the world’s first industrial mech? Meet the Guardian GT, a teleoperated robot designed by Palladyne AI Equipped with dual seven-foot arms, it can lift up to 1,000 pounds with precision. Each arm boasts seven degrees of freedom, enabling it to handle tasks ranging from delicate tool manipulation to heavy material movement. Operators experience real-time force feedback, allowing them to "feel" what the robot arms are doing, enhancing control over complex tasks. Mounted on a mobile platform, the Guardian GT can navigate diverse terrains, showcasing an impressive example of human controlled, "teleoperated" robotics! #robotics #construction #engineering

🚨 Don't miss out Nikolai Ensslen's talk at Robotics Summit & Expo ❗️Conference at the Engineering Theater ⏰ May 1 at 12:30pm 💎 Topic: "Intelligent Humanoids: The End Game for Functional Safety Certification" 🤖 "Certification of the functional safety of stationary and wheeled mobile robots is already a significant challenge for designers and manufacturers. Ensuring and certifying safety for legged humanoids raises the bar to a new level. Adding advanced AI and at some point AGI, robot safety ultimately means an implementation of Asimov’s Positronic Brain. This talk will review the state of the art, as well as the bleeding edge of robot safety, outline best practices as well as give an outlook on future technologies and approaches that will enable universally intelligent humanoid robots that are intrinsically safe". #Synapticon #RoboticsSummit #robotics #FunctionalSafety #IARobotSafety #BostonConvention

Pudu bought the upper part of this device from a domestic humanoid developer, either Fourier or Agibot, period. This can't be proprietary technology. No way a loss-making commercial bot maker could acquire the complex technologies necessary for doing humanoids in less than a year. Fat chance. Don't take this development too seriously. This won't help Pudu much. I for one would write off its importance and nor do I believe anyone with a sensible mind should from now on put Pudu in the same league as Fourier, Unitree, Agibot, Robot Era and all these top-tier players in the Chinese humanoid race. Pudu is just one of the many also-rans who hastily, and maybe also desperately, jumped on the humanoid bandwagon in a bid to jack up their decreasing valuation. There is no future for this startup to venture into humanoid. It doesn't even offer any hope of bolstering its struggling delivery robot business. The fact that even commercial robot manufacturer with no proven track record in general-purpose robotics is bandying about embodied AI tells you how dangerously over-hyped this sector has become in China. #embodiedAI #PuduRobotics #humanoid
