AI is massacring marketing as we know it. (and perhaps the human race) But there is a solution. "Sit down, shut up, and get with the program or fall behind." That's the response you'll get from a lot of large voices if you raise concerns about the impact of AI on humans. You'll hear a lot of retorts like "People freaked out about *list of technologies that have caused irreversible damage to humanity* too!" Yes, people have been concerned, and perhaps even overreacted when it comes to technological development in the past. But AI isn't just another technological development. It's the spear tip of a long history of imbalance in the way we view technological progress. Many of the technologies we've developed in recent years have swept the legs out from under our ability to distinguish fact from fiction, and our ability to engage in necessary social interaction. And AI is the just the thing to turbo boost us in to a world of false connection and false information. I know this is quite dramatic for a LinkedIn post, but it does have implications for your business. In a sea of AI generated, 'SEO optimized', robotic content, the world needs to know you're real. Your customers need you. A content marketing strategy that actually makes new customers requires building trust with prospects. Since the dawn of AI, written word is no longer just a human act. A true bond between business and customer requires hearing a human voice, and seeing a real person talking. Your customers need to hear from you and your people, not a robot. This means there will be a steep decline in value of many types of content, mainly text based content. Whereas video content allows your business to connect with customers in a way that is genuine, efficient, and effective. It’s like doing sales calls in your sleep. When people engage with your videos, to the viewer it feels like you're there with them. Video takes care of the know, like, trust factor before you or your sales rep even makes contact with your prospects. I think written content still has a place (obviously, im doing it right now). But video content is the perfect way to supercharge written content. And of course AI is inevitable, and I'm not completely opposed to it. But we have to take AI's reins so it doesn't take ours.

A for AI : A Teacher’s Perspective Over the past year in digital marketing, I've had the unique privilege of not only being a marketer but also teaching bright young minds who represent the future of this industry. With AI rapidly becoming a powerful tool in marketing, I often find myself wondering: How will creativity and original ideas stand out in this tech-driven landscape? I often find myself trapped in a dilemma. On one hand, I’m the one guiding students on how to use powerful AI tools effectively. On the other hand, I can’t emphasize enough the importance of original ideas and creativity. While AI has certainly made content creation more accessible, the true essence of marketing has always been driven by unique ideas. Though this next generation of marketers is incredibly talented and full of fresh perspectives, with so many tools in hand will they be able to keep the creativity alive? We have to understand that while AI can streamline processes, it's the human mind—the spark of an original idea—that truly differentiates a campaign, a brand, or a message. I would like to re-emphasize, let's not forget that' AI can handle the mechanics, but it’s the innovative thinking and bold ideas that will continue to shape the future of marketing. What do you think—how will the next generation harness their creativity in this AI-powered world? PS: I did use AI to generate the attached image 😀

🚀 AI Marketing Meets Strategy: How GreyGiant Nailed It Without Spending a Rupee! As the world buzzes with the potential of AI in marketing, we at GreyGiant decided to put it to the pilot test—our way. Instead of pouring money into flashy campaigns or following the herd, we leaned into what we do best: strategic thinking and customized solutions. 🎯 The Challenge: Could AI platforms work for us organically, without pouring a single rupee into content or ads? 🚀 The Execution: We took on a pilot project with a single goal—to leverage AI organically, spending exactly ₹0. It wasn’t just about testing AI but bending it to work for us on our terms. 📈 The Outcome: ✅ Significant traffic generated from AI-driven sources. ✅ ₹0 spent on ads or content boosts. ✅ A compelling case for why thoughtful strategy > blind spending. This isn’t just a casestudy—it’s a proof of concept. AI is powerful, yes, but when paired with strategic brilliance, it becomes transformative. 💪 Kudos to My Giants: This is a testament to the relentless creativity, passion, and digital brilliance of my team, proof that when strategy meets execution, the results speak for themselves. As GreyGiant grows, so does our belief: Strategy is timeless, and trends are tools. You choose how to use them.

AI in Marketing: Amplifier or Shortcut? The rise of AI in marketing feels like a tidal wave—powerful, fast-moving, and impossible to ignore. So many are focused on what AI can do, while missing a more important question: What should it do? I always encourage marketers to approach AI strategically, using it to solve real challenges rather than chasing trends or automating for automation’s sake. Actions: 1. Identify gaps AI can fill without diluting what makes your brand unique. 2. Leverage AI as a tool to refine—not replace—human judgment. 3. Prioritize depth over breadth in AI-driven initiatives. Scenario: A brand uses AI to churn out dozens of micro-targeted ads, all technically optimized for engagement. But they fall flat because the audience senses the lack of cohesion and authenticity. By contrast, another brand integrates AI to analyze patterns in customer sentiment, helping its team craft campaigns that align with its core values. The latter doesn’t produce as much content, but its impact resonates far deeper. As AI transforms the marketing landscape, consider these questions: • Does our use of AI align with our brand’s principles? • Are we using AI to scale what we do well, or to shortcut critical thinking? • How can we make sure technology serves our strategy, not the other way around? AI is a tool and a co-intelligence, not a strategy. The most effective marketers will be those who use it thoughtfully, with an eye toward amplifying the strengths only humans can bring: creativity, empathy, and intuition.

Marketing, in its essence, is an ongoing pursuit of connection. 🎯 Without making a connection through communication - there’s no marketing. At least not good marketing. While AI tools can indeed boost efficiency, marketers seem to be becoming overly reliant on them, even when unnecessary. They also attempt to use AI to connect with people, and often with poor results. We've all seen it—the endless stream of copy-paste content that fills our feeds on LinkedIn, Instagram, and beyond. ✨ Delving and immersing into the dynamic, ever-evolving realm of whatever. 🧚♀️ And yet, most of us quickly scroll past these posts. It's a clear sign that people (and consequently, algos) favor... Originality? Effort? The human touch? How about - true connection? So, all that content is for nothing... unless it truly connects. ❓ Can you actually make a connection through AI? 🤷♀️ I’m honestly not sure. Tomorrow, (Friday, June 21) we’ll discuss findings from our research with Jasper, titled "Generative AI's Impact on Marketing Agencies and Their Clients," and share the data and insights. Drop me a message if you’d like to join—it's free and interactive.

I attended an event about startups and marketing. In the discussion the bombardment of tailored and very specific marketing material especially aimed at C-level executives came up. Platforms like LinkedIn, seem flooded with content, much of it churned out by AI. In order to keep up with the information coming ones way, Copilots or other AI tools are beginning to be used to filter, contain and triage. This creates a curious paradox where machines are crafting messages in human language, only for other machines to read this human language messages and then translate them to machine language in order to do their things and then again translate them to human language for us to consume. I dont know how the came is called where you whisper in your friends ear a short little message which then gets whispered around the table until it reaches you completely different. But is not that what we are doing? One of the movies I tend to at least partially rewatch again and again is called "The Forbin Project". After insisting on talking to each other, two supercomputers develop their own language and start to synch up. This spectacle of synchronization, depicted with plotters churning out code at varying speeds until they harmonize, begs a question. Would it not streamline the process if AIs directly conversed in their digital tongues, only translating outcomes as needed? It feels strange this dance of encoding and decoding we do, when a straightforward machine-to-machine dialogue could suffice until the point, where we are looped in again. On a sidenote - it did not turn out well for us pink skins in the movie.
