Meet Merve Atasoy, UNLOCK's Technical Manager of Biodiscovery and Modular Bioreactor Platforms. "I find the most fascinating aspect of UNLOCK to be its integration of various platforms, fostering a holistic approach. For example, combining diverse reactor systems at the Modular Bioreactor Platform enables the development of new technologies for pollutant removal or the targeted production of compounds. Simultaneously, the Parallel Cultivation Platform allows for the screening of different environmental and operational parameters' effects. Additionally, the Biodiscovery Platform facilitates the isolation and identification of key microbial players within these systems. Lastly, the ability to monitor, transfer, and store data from these experiments online via the Fair Data Platform adds to the intrigue." Merve is involved in an internal project focusing on multi-scale metabolic modeling of the Clostridia community, aiming to guide specific product formations. Experiments using the microbioreactor system at the Biodiscovery Platform at Wageningen University & Research are underway, with results to be analyzed in collaboration with UNLOCK's researchers of Delft University of Technology. #UNLOCKMicrobialPotential #Microbes #Research #Microbial #MeetTheTeam
