A significant milestone has been reached at Karanga-a-Hape Station with the energisation of the Tunnel Ventilation System (TVS) fans. The TVS is an advanced system incorporating airflow modelling, real-time monitoring, and automated control mechanisms, all designed to optimise ventilation and ensure a safe and healthy environment for passengers. Following energisation, the team will conduct a series of tests to verify airflow and noise performance and to confirm integration with other critical tunnel systems, such as signalling and fire alarms. In total, 12 fans have been installed across the project: five at Karanga-a-Hape, four at Te Waihorotiu, and three at Maungawhau. Together, these systems will play a vital role in maintaining air quality and ensuring passenger safety during normal operations, congestion, or emergencies. The cumulative number of registered electric vehicles in Korea exceeded 600,000 for the first time. The cumulative supply of EV chargers has also exceeded 360,000. That's about 1.6 EVs sharing one charger. According to the Korea Automobile Mobility Industry Association (KAMA), the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport on the 1st, the cumulative number of electric vehicles registered in Korea in the first half of this year was 606,610 units.
