At The Workshop we want good knowledge to be used to improve people's lives. The training we developed to counter false information, to have difficult conversations, to rebuild connections where they have been severed by false information, is driven by a commitment to more connected and caring communities. In our latest blog, Jess talks about three proven tactics to counter false information and when to use them. https://lnkd.in/guQCuvn7 If you'd like to learn more about these tactics and how to use them in your context then consider one of our upcoming training options. You can find all the training details in our events calendar. https://lnkd.in/gqA-WEDS

Cold outreach, when implemented, consistently builds businesses 💪💪 It’s a fact that many people forget. You can’t keep fishing in the same pond if you want to grow. A few months ago, we ran a live Superfast Circle training event. One of the sessions was on developing your cold outreach process using our six-step framework. We have made this publicly available on our blog, which you can access by clicking the link below. It's just under an hour long, so allocate time to watch this. #NarrativeTips If you only have 5 mins to frame your issue Framing is such an important tool for switching on understanding and support for our issues. Sometimes it feels super complicated to get your framing ducks in a row 🦆 🦆🦆, especially if you are firing off a social media post or a short response. So if you only have five minutes to frame something here is a quick check list for you: ✅ 1. Always start with a shared prosocial value not a problem to connect people to your issue eg 'Most of us want kids in all communities to thrive'- that is a helpfulness and equity value ✅ 2. Do NOT negate or even used the frame, words, arguments of the opposition anywhere in what you have said - the use of unhelpful frames from a trusted source is putting those unhelpful frame on steroids and spreading them ✅ 3. Be clear on what your narrative is (the golden idea about what is possible that diverts people away from the core idea the opposition is shilling) ✅ 4. Use just a few judicious facts to EXPLAIN how the problem started, what it led to and what the solution is - explaining instead of just describing what the problem in many different ways using lots of facts gives people a new story to draw on ✅ 5. Use plain simple language and avoid jargon - makes it easy to hear and share. BTW most of The Workshop's guide have a checklist at the back of them to help you frame on the fly! And if you want to learn more because you have more than five minutes to frame then we have many training sessions coming up also https://lnkd.in/gu8z-Ewd
