Me: Want to go to the Farmer's Market? Wife: Sure, what time? Me: It opens at 4, can you go then? Wife: Yep, can you grab my sandals? Me: Bullets of sweat start trickling down my face, and if I colored my hair (all of this gray is real), I'd be doing my best Rudy Giuliana Me: Which ones? Wife: I don't care Me: The sweat increases in both volume and velocity Wife: There's a basket of them (them???) in the back of my closet Me: Walking into said closet, I look around and see what is arguably the LARGEST basket, and of course it's full of sandals (not judging, but good lord, are there any sandals even left in the world, that aren't in this basket?) Me (again): What color? Wife: Doesn't matter Me: Thought bubble above my head, "oh, it matters" Me: Just make a decision Me: No way, it'll be the wrong one Me: Don't overthink it Me: Too late! Me: I have an idea! Grab them all! Me: Dumb idea Me: I have a more filtered idea..... Yes, I'm an overthinking, high fact-finding, process-oriented, make my wife happy kind of person. So I did what any smart partner would do: I grabbed two pairs of sandals, take a picture, text the picture, and ask the wife "which ones?". And 100%, I was thinking about taking the ones she didn't choose. Phew! Crisis avoided, sandals matched the work outfit, and we got some of the most amazing pickles and tomatoes, while also running into friends and catching up. Moral of the story? As much as me asking questions might make some people frustrated, my process is what gets to the right answer at the right time to allow for the right outfit to be had. I've recently had to admit that I have some clients that are not worth having. No matter how much I help them, answer their questions, or try to accommodate them, it's simply not enough. It's OKAY to walk away for the sake of your peace and mental state. Parting from clients isn't always easy but sometimes necessary. If you have a client that is causing you stress, simply let them know that it seems you may not be the right agent, stylist, mechanic, fill in the blank with whatever it is you do, to continue to serve them. Make several recommendations for them of other people that may better serve their needs. Even in business, sometimes you just don't have chemistry with your clients. One important lesson from a 13 year old ⤵️ 
Keep it simple! 
 Last night, my son decided he was going trick-or-treating with friends on Thursday. Of course this meant he needs a costume — and fast! He wanted a DIY costume he could pull together from things around the house. He searched through old costumes (just like repurposing content 😉) but eventually came up with his own idea. A plain white T-shirt with “Costume” written across it. Simple, clear, and in the mind of a 13 year old, hilarious! 😆 This is what I preach to my clients — When it comes to messaging (social media, emails, or sales pages), simplicity wins.
